I've grown to be quite a Silverchair fan over the past year or so. I like their earlier stuff, Frogstomp and Freak Show, but to be honest, I think Diorama and Neon Ballroom are two of the best CD's I have EVER heard. I cannot wait until their next CD comes out in 2006 or 07. I always knew about Silverchair, but for some reason, never gave them the credit they deserved.

 I noticed you downloading my entire Silverchair collection on the hub a while ago, yeah.

If only more people could hear and realize just how fantastic they are. :(

I've known since early 2001 when I heard "Untitled" (off the "Godzilla" soundtracK) for the first time. I still don't care for the first two album of theirs all that much though. I followed the progress of the making of "Diorama" that year like a rabid dog though.

New album late '06 or sometime '07! Can't wait. And while I loved "Diorama," I'd like to see a bit more aggression in their music again ala "Neon Ballroom." Tis one of my favorite albums of all-time.

 Frogstomp was very grunge, Freak Show was very alternative... it wasn't until Neon Ballroom that they really found their own sound and became a truly fantastic band.

I completely agree! I had listened to them casually, but when Neon Ballroom came out I was hooked. I can't believe I've only been able to see them live once!

Hopefully they'll come back to North America for the next album! They're so good live. Even if Daniel does do odd things on stage. :freak:

When did you see them?

I saw them at Edgefest in Barrie, July 1st 1999. I remember it well because it rained like crazy and their set was delayed.

Other mainstage acts included Hole, Moist, Big Wreck, Edwin, Matthew Good Band, Wide Mouth Mason and the Rascalz. Side stage acts I remember were Treble Charger, Len, Serial Joe, Vertical Horizon, Finger Eleven... I think I'm missing a couple.

Nice! I saw them in '99, too. Once in March and once in November, I believe. Great shows. They really are a great live band. Very tight.
