Axtech wrote:A song about the genocide (that's the mass brutal murdering of a race of people) in Darfur, and you're arguing about what part of Ontario he's talking about?

Besides, it wouldn't be good to be in that "North Ontario"... He's using that as a referance point for the ignorant masses who have no idea what's going on. This particular individual wakes up in Darfur to experience the horror first hand, and the compassion that still exists in those who live it every day ("welcome to my home", etc...). It's a plea to show compassion for those who are suffering. The man who wakes up in Al Genina doesn't know if he'll ever get home, but he's asking everyone to leave a light on for him (something you do when someone you care about is out late/away and you're expecting them home). I believe that this man won't be able to leave, to go back to his old way of life, until the killing is stopped and these people can live in peace. Only then can he come home. But he has hope that these people can be save, that he will come home, because he asks that you leave a light on for him. That, or, in a similar scenario, it's the people of Al Genina, who have been run out of their homes (the people of Darfur have been displaced, leaving their homes to avoid the genocide), asking someone to leave a light on because they have hope that they will survive and be able to return home in peace and happiness once again.

Woah, I think that's way too deep.

I think it's a song about a dude that falls asleep in Timmins, Ontario (Shania Twain's hometown) and he has a dream. In the dream, this lady invites him into her home but then she's all like "Life is different here, it's not all about bling bling and getting crunked." And the dude goes "What?! Can you please turn on a light, it's really dark in here, it's kind of creeping me out."

The lady ignores the dude's request and continues by telling him that he can't leave because he won't make it home. The dude replies with "I ain't even afraid to live or die, beat that!"

Suddenly, this bright light blinds the entire house and he wakes up to see that his Care Bears night light is indeed plugged in, turned on, and shining bright!

I love happy endings!

Yeah, there's a huge list of statistics in the liner notes... Raine read some select ones to us at the Drake show... he seemed to skip over quite a bit, then got bored before finishing the list. But he read a ton of them... so it's pretty long.

Ambition is killing me,
And you transended up my knee (this one)

I don't think that's it...and I don't know what it could be....sometimes I hear...

Ambition is killing me,
The new trends are not my thing,
I feel so cheap.

Or something. Transcended doesn't sound right to me.

Me and faninor Josh decided months ago from the live recordings that it's "and I'm gonna transit on my knee".

Anyone thinking/hearing:

I want you to hope,
I want you to know,
I'd die for you,
Die for you.

In DON'T STOP instead of:

I want you to know,
I want you to know...
"I'll never get over you."

i'm wondering who were some of the lyrics refering to, i guess "boy" was written for Rain's first child (how old is he?), love & trust probably for his parents, "wipe that smile.." for someone he's really mad of  , and apology...i guess...maybe for Chantal?

what do u guys think?

Haha definitly not.

This album is a little more deep, there isnt alot of relationship stuff.
Alot of the songs are about the world and politics, and his trip to Sudan.

i can agree with that about "boy", and maybe "love & trust" too, but "apology" really sounds to me like a personal (maybe Rain's first in 6 cd's?) song, and i don't think he would relate to people other than his wife as "you're my life" and all those other imagery he describes in the song.
