Seeings how you're across the universe, it might be difficult.

One cannot be across the universe, because there is no end or beginning to the universe :GASP:

Well, getting back on topic -

I wouldn;t mind being asked out, I personally find it flattering. I'm sure a lot of guys, in fact most of the ones I know would prefer that (and I'm kind of speaking from a socially-inept crowd, so that isn't saying much). I mean, I know it takes guts in some cases to just go up and ask someone out, and I'd find that admirable in someone. it speaks to their self-confidence, which I think we'd all agree is a positive quality.

I'm not sure how people just don't do it. It's easy. It doesn't necessarily suggest anything further than going out somewhere with someone - I ask people out all the time to go places (don't think too far into that).

The problem is guys versus girls. if a guy asks a girl out, a girl would see it, and correct me if im wrong, one of two ways - "oh, what a nice gesture, that sounds like a good time" OR "this guy wants 'something' from me". however, if a girl asks a guy out, i guarantee you that 9 times out of 10, the guy is thinking "hah, this girl wants 'something' from me" - and i think therein lies the reason that its not very common that girls ask guys out. unless a girl specifically lays out some ground rules for the guy, that's what he's gonna think.

ps i have this horrible habit of stream-of-consciousness writing, so forgive me if that made little sense.

No, I can see that. Girls usually think "That sounds like fun, I might as well give it a shot". But I can see a guy just thinking "This girl is totally in love with me...how _________".

God don't remind me. I'd never be able to bring a girl home if I didnt have Nikki.

For those of you not on the same page, my roommates & friends are complete nerds/fanboys. Ugh.

All of my friends are socially inept as well. I don't even know how we communicate. Or how we became friends. Because I was socially inept before that ...

Lovely!
