A New Hope. Cantina. Eh?

i know, i know.

BUT...the movies aren't true to the technology. That's one of the problems with the films; the lightsaber blades are supposed to burn so hot that the wound immediately seals. But blood is more flashy, plus it was thought to kill people without some blood would look fake and hokey.

speaking of Star Wars and books

i was reading a Doors book and learnt that Han Solo himself, Harrison Ford used to work as a stage hand for them, and was apparently very good at getting drugs for people also

ya thats pretty much was he did

the line in the book is something like

"new Doors crew member Harrison Ford was an aspiring actor; his chores included carpentry and finding herbs for the band. he also handled one of the cameras during the concerts four camera shoot"
talking about the Hollywood Bowl show

Finally saw Revenge of the Sith. I absolutely loved it.

The only thing I really REALLY wish they'd done better was Vader's "nooooooooo!". That was lame. Someone with a more powerful voice should have done it. It just didn't have the complete and utter anger and hatred that it should have. The scream should have shaken the walls as much as his anger did through the force. But it was this weak little "noooooo!!1".

Other than that ... I really loved the way events were revealed. The whole way I ached for Anakin to make the right choices, and choose the path of good, obviously knowing he wouldn't.

I have to admit that I really wasn't impressed. Though I am not a Star Wars fan. Not at all. And I am completly desencitised to all violence apparently because after watching the opening bit, I really thought it just looked like a video game. Other then that, I was happy with how things unfolded and the character arc and all that. There were some things that I enjoyed like when the senator wanted annie to spy on the jedi and the jedi wanted him to spy on the senator. Good stuff.
Lots of bad stuff though. Like cheesy dialogue. Which is to be expected, but still annoying. I agree with Rob too, the 'Nooo' made me laugh. It was just so awkward. And parts of it seemed dragged out.

It certainly was better than episodes I and II but that isn't saying much. I thought the first 30 minutes were lame what with droids acting like the 3 stooges and all. It didn't start to get good until the turn of Anakin... however I must say that how this happened wasn't very convincing.

wait, if something is that hot, shouldn't you get burnt just by being close to it? they'd all be screaming in pain during intense battle scenes....

WOAH!

What the fuck!??

I'm watching Return of the Jedi.

And Lucas fucked up!

Leia remembers her real mother, "just images really", that she was "very beautiful" and "sad".

But in Revenge of the Sith, Padmé died during childbirth.

The only half-assed explaination I can think of is that she's using the force to recall things about her mother that she couldn't otherwise know, just as Luke and Anakin both had visions of the future.

Also, there were a number of referances to both Obi Wan and Anakin being students of Yoda, while in the new ones, they both start out as students of Qui-Gon Jinn.

She could be recalling what she THOUGHT was her birth mother: Bail's wife. She was never told where she came from to protect her I imagine. She also refers to Bail as her father.

Technically everyone was a student of Yoda's. He gives them all some training but the majority of their training is done by a full fledged jedi knight or master.

But Luke said "Tell me what you remember about your mother. Your real mother." (he was trying to find out about their mother, since at this point her knew they were twins and that Vader/Anakin was their father). I took it that she knew she was adopted, though she didn't know who her real parents were.

Also, (just found this) on the official Star Wars website, her official biography reads:

Leia has few memories of her true mother, Padmé Amidala. All that Leia can recall is that she was beautiful, but sad.

I assume the explanation is that, as she is mildly gifted with the force (apparently it's genetic... weird), she has a weak memory for things that normal folks would remember nothing of.
