So, I'm getting a dvd burner this weekend, which means that I have a question. Are dvd burners compatible with every computer? Thats what I am worrided about. And what kind of burner should I be looking for?
I got too much stuff on my puter and I dont want to lose it.

You won't lose it when you install unless you drop your computer or something.

My cd drive like buzzes when I put cds in. The burner records them. I'm wondering if I just need to get a new one or if there is something I can do to fix it.

Thouroughly wash it with soap and water.
Johnathan, try Plextor, Pioneer, or Sony DVD burners. Those were among the better ones if I remember right. Look for one that burns +/- discs as well.

I'd just buy a new one it would probably last longer and end up being cheaper in the long run than trying to fix it.

Oh, hey Cass if you want a new Cd rom/burner, I'll sell you the old one out of my Dell for cheap. It's a 40x burner by Sony. I can try and find a price if you are interested.

I just need a rom actually. Thanks though.
The buzzing is horrid. And it's the only way I'm gonna have to play music at school so I need to fix it.
