Oh yeah, and if you don't think trains rock, then you need to come here or to a lot of other major cities that rely heavily on subways. :P I personally love being able to get into Philly incredibly easily on the Speedline.

I got to sit in the engine cab of a train when I was a young lad. I even got to blow the horn a few times. Of course I have no recollection of this though.

They're my favorite way to travel. Even if I don't get to use them often.

Correction - trains are great when they work properly and aren't delayed (ie. not in England, or the ones I took in Paris the other day)

sooz - i found the trains in england to be pretty good. plus they speak in amusing female voices. teehee.

the go train is awesome. i love sitting at the top going backwards at night. that's fun.

i like trains. when i was little on the go train alone the engineer let me sit and watch him operate it, and he explained it all to me. i was intrigued.

I think Claire was lucky with the trains. Or maybe they put on special trains for Canadians :) When do they speak in female voices??? Oooh you mean the tube :)

I like going to Europe where they have double decker trains , we don't have them here :(

no! the actual train had a female voice too! the one i took from marlow to london had a voice that warned you to mind the doors when they closed.

it only did it going the one way though, not the other.

and the tube had neato voices too!

i should be hating the TTC by now, because 99% of the time i take it, it's jam-packed with moody, snobbish businesspeople at rush hour... but i'm not. it's something about those EXTREMELY rare moments when you are alone, or nearly alone, in a single car, and it's sunny and snowing outside at the same time, and the train is passing above ground level. well, that happened to me just once. yesterday morning.

it's a very optimistic feeling. :D

You're a very optimistic feeling! That's right, I went there.
