Just announced on ESPN...
The NBA has officially changed the name of the basketball mini-game H-O-R-S-E.
It's now called G-E-I-C-O. After a new sponsorship agreement has been signed and promotions are coming in the near future.

Corporate sponsorship is getting way out of hand.

Apparently its first formal appearance is going to be at the upcoming NBA all-star weekend events. Wow... Haha

Geico should just stick to silly ads.

I wonder if the person playing this game (G-E-I-C-O, is it?) gets to take on the lizard with the accent? Or will it be the caveman? Or the money with the freaky eyeballs?

I hope it's the gecko. I love that little guy.

Unfortunately for them, the name will never catch on. It'd beem H-O-R-S-E for so long, I don't really see that changing for anyone.

I can't say I've ever heard of H-O-R-S-E, but to answer Neil's question, it looks like the caveman is connected with this sponsorship, based on the pictures I've seen on the news.

Never heard of Horse? Awww... Cute in a strange way. I thought everybody knew what Horse is.
Mainly played in groups of two. However you can play with how many ever you really want. One person takes a shot from where ever they want.
If they make it...the other person(s) need to also make the shot and if they don't make they get a letter. (H-O-R-S-E)
You spell the word by missing the follow up shots; you lose.

It's like hangman, but with a basketball, and nobody dies.

Oh, I've played a game like that, back in grade school gym class, only we weren't spelling horse - it was "shots" or something. Is there a particular reason why it's HORSE?

That's a good question, and wiki doesn't help explain at all.
