i think i still use it from time to time. And i realize that it's insulting, but when my friends and i use it it's not as an insult, ussually just more as "that sucks". Still we refrain from using it around other people, and like was said before, even my lesbian friend uses it.

Still it's pretty rude to use it around gay people if you dont' know them, then you come off as a homophobic asshole in some cases
