I was 11. It was the summer between leaving junior school and starting senior school.

*counts fingers*

hm, nobody i know who still doesn't have it.

I was 12, all my friends were 12 or 13 except one who didn't get it until high school. Poor girl was always really stressed about being later than everyone else and people made fun of her, etc.

There was also a girl in my class who got it when she was 8... she was fully developed before any of the rest of us were even learning about it. She was made fun of and ended up with no friends for a few years. Then one day she became the best friend of all the guys, then she got pregnant before we graduated from elementary school, and again in the first year of high school.

january 8th when i was grade 7 so therefor i was 12

I don't remember the exact date, just that it was really traumatizing because the timing was the worst. It was messy, and it happened less than 2 hours before I had to go in front of a school assembly to sing. My best friend called my mom, my mom called my dad out of work, he went home and got me a pair of pants to change into and brought them to the school. I had been hiding in the ladies room for 45 minutes by that time. I changed, got a pad from a friend, and then went on stage to sing.

I was at basketball practice!

i was maybe 11, and i was just about to play Isis in a class play, so i was wearing this gorgeous pure white linen gown/dress/toga/whatever thing, which i surprisingly did not stain! my mom was pretty damn happy about that.

Your period can be such an embarassment when you are such a tender age. I remember doing a gymnastics deomonstration at another school and we had this routine where we went into press headstands, basically you stradle your legs and lift them. So we go into starting position heads down facing out to the crowd, and who is sitting right in front of me but the first boy i ever kissed, and unbeknowst to me I had just got my period. At least at the time I didn't know and my uniform was dark green so it was overly obvious, but when i went to the bathroom i died inside!!!

Mine was nice. I got it right before I stepped into the shower. It was really light.
