My girlfriend says it's scary. Like Good Charlotte covering a Silverchair song.

Brent- Trust me, everyone has problems, and it makes them depressed.
At the end of this year, I will have been on crutches 8 out of the 12 months. Thats quite a lot. When I'm sad, I do sports. I run, work out, swim, ride, snowboard, ect. So, what do ya do when what makes you happy is what is making you sad in the first place?
I broke my leg last year snowboarding. I got a plate put in. I'm never supposed to snowboard again, but ABSOLUTLY can't until I get the plate out next summer. I saw someone walking into school yesterday with their board and it literally made my stomach hurt because I was so sad. May seem insignificant, but its my passion and I can't do it anymore.
So, I find other things to be happy about. I'm taking bass lessons this winter instead, and I'm psyched for that. Sure, everytime I drive to work at the mountain, get asked if I'm going up to snowboard today, SEE a snowboard, get Transworld in the mail, or anything else, it will make me sad. I could be depressed all winter, but I'm not going to. I promise myself that now, because its bullshit. There is so much to be happy about, that if you let yourself be sad, you are missing out on everything good. I know that I don't want to live my life like that, and I won't.
Everything is about how you look at life. EVERYONE can find things that make them depressed. Everyone could focus on that and be sad all the time. What you have to do is acknowledge all the shitty things in life, then move past them and focus on all the good things.

YourJesus wrote:PS. Caitlin. I didn't really get to hang out with you as much as i'd have liked but i did talk to you a fair bit on AIM and it was always my impression that you were not an unhappy person. I am not trying to make light of your condintion. I am simply expressing my POV on the so-called 'emo' kids.
Heh, sure. Don't worry, I don't like the "emo" kids who think that being miserable is stylish. And I'm not by nature a depressing person, it's not my personality, I just get depressed and I can't help it. But I've been on anti-depressants for longer than you've known me and it allows me to be myself, and when I do get upset, it's for a real reason.

I just found out that my friend passed out during work and was taken to the emergency room.
This has been a very strange week for me. On Monday, my future step-cousin fell off a ladder, cracked his skull open and died, but the paramedics revived him, and now he's at U of M hospital. The paramedics came to see him and told the family that they didn't think he was going to make it.
