First we had hamsters and guinea pigs that died. We had budgies that died. Then we got 2 cats after years of begging. After years of loving and taking care of them, my sister and I came home one day to find them gone. My parents had gotten rid of them and we don't know where they went

:crying:
Then a couple years later we got a puppy. He was abused and abandoned and we loved him and took care of him and he finally trusted people again. I bought his food and things out of the money I made from part time jobs. He was such an awesome doggie, and was with me thru a lot of hard times (he used to sit on my bed with his head on my lap while I cried about crap that was going on in my life... he always made me feel better).
Then one day I came home from a track meet and his collar was on the hallway table, which was strange. I called him and he didn't come. My parents had gotten rid of him when I was at school that day

:crying:
why the hell did your parents keep getting rid of your pets when you were at school? It sounds like you took pretty good care of them, I don't understand why they would do that.

Very little of my parents did ever a lot of sense.
And it's really hard to deal with when you lose your pets for no reason. Never do that to your kids peope, it leaves scars

I still wonder where they went (animal shelter, country road, friend of a friend, etc) and it makes me really sad when I see old photos of them.

that's horrible. Sometimes it's hard to believe that people can really be so...mean. It's not right that people as nice as you have to go through that.
and it's amazing that you turned out so great regardless of having parents like that *hugs*

I try to find positives... for example, I'm a pretty strong person because of the things I've been through.
And have I mentioned I love rainbow pictures.... Niagara Falls:
