Is there anyway to copy a copy protected cd into my computer? I need to make a copy of this cd so I can play it my vehicle.

I'm getting popup ads lately too. McAfee, Spybot, Adaware and Housecall found nothing.

gavtodd71 wrote:you should do what i do, spend the time to make one good format of your hard drive. Then after that format, and once everything is the way you like it make a ghost image of your hard drive. Then next time when you go to format, it takes 20 minutes to wipe your hard drive, reinstall every single program and replace any files you had left in the ghost. And an easy way of saving your files is to keep a 5gb partition or so, you put the recent files in.

I format my computer once a year now, and it only takes 20 minutes of my life :)

That's the best idea ever... but alas, I'm impatient when I get my machine back up after a format. I feel the need to immediately go online and chat and stuff as soon as I get it going... which would screw up the ghost. I also tend to update programs a lot, cos I've got so freaking many. So it might not work so well for me. :uhh:

Oh and, what's a good spyware removal program that you guys can suggest to me that's not Spybot (already have it) or Ad-Aware (EVIL EVIL EVIL!!!)? I've got LimeShop and WeatherBug stuck on my computer, and no matter what I do, they won't go away.

First of all, get rid of Limewire if you don't want spyware.

There's no way that I know of, but I'm sure there's something out there that would let you do it.

I mean, computer geeks don't like to be stopped from doing anything, so I'm sure someone's found a way around it.

I know there is as well. Before I bought it, I downloaded a few tunes from the Hub and from Soulseek.

I hate cds like this. :uh:

okay, there is some method that can get rid of the copy protection but I would look it up first.

What you do is you take a black perminant marker and draw a thin line around the inside circle of the CD. Then you can burn it with ease. But that is something that you could easily fuck up. It is a pretty well known method though, so I'm sure you can search and find out how to do it properly.

Yes...I heard that one too. It's also one that I know I would screw up.

Yeah I got spybot and it will say that there is all this crap on it and that it can't get rid of it. Plus, I uninstalled AdAware and when spybot scans it says that it is still on my computer and that they two may or may not interfere.

I swear to you, someone has got to do something about this pop up crap! It's awful. Another thing that is happening is that certain words become links. Like on the forum index here, "flowers" is highlighted and you click on it and it takes you to like an msn search for flowers. It happens everywhere, in my lj too. It freaking pisses me off.

I get (among various other pop-up ads) a popup for "Zesty Find", which takes a word that I search for or type in, and gives me a search for it.
