by indie i don't mean the music genre, which is the most retarded idea ever. I mean bands that are underground or signed onto indie labels. I'd consider Tegan and Sara a underground band considering not many people know who they are, and they play small bars

Well, i must give them a listen! If they're based in scotland, you know its Class.

yeah i've just recently gotten into it. I've had a subscription to Chart for a long time now, but i never really paid much attention to any of the bands they rave about untill recently. Canada really does have an amazing music scene just under the surface. You look at some of the critically acclaimed college radio bands in America and it seems like Canada has tons of bands better then them just under the surface.

I would suggest trying out some of the local bands Chart suggests.

Ohhh Yeah. Chart reccomends some reallly awesome sauce music. Alot of who i listen to now, was because of chart.

Yeah people get down on Chart about how their writing isn't very good, but i love it. It's really casual and they have a great sense of humor. It's more like real people writing then "magazine writing". Not to mention they're probably proping up the Canadian music scene, they're awesome for exposing awesome bands in local areas.

THE CONSTANTINES!!!

I'm serious, this band is amazing! Saw them open for Hawksley one time and slowly became hooked...Shine A Light and their self titled album are awesome....oh ya and their very good live too....like at one show in London, someone told them to "take of [their] pants!" and they did..like the lead singer took off his clothes and rocked out with his guitar...well maybe that doesnt float your boat (lol) they were still really awesome!
