He should be happy with whatever. He's dating a Jen Wood look-alike, and you know about my affinity for Jen Wood.

I suppose if you're going for a real gift (instead of or as well as the whole sexual favours thing, which always goes over well), it depends on what you want to spend, and what he has/needs. Just don't limit yourself to valintine's stuff. Though this may not help much, think about the kind of thing he'd want for birthday/Christmas sort of thing, and get something along those lines (maybe something a little smaller, for this, the Hallmark©®™ holiday).

Just tell your b/f or g/f that you made a donation in their honor to the Bethany fund, which gives aid to impoverished college students named Bethany Gorka. They will love your gift/donation.

Why is V-day a Hallmark holiday?
Posted: 2/1/2004, 1:01 pm
by Joe Cooler
Because Hallmark came up with it as far as i know.
Edit: Or at least highly promote it.

So they just made up the Saint Valentine?? Somehow I don't think they did.

by Joe Cooler
I doubt they did either but they probably took the story of Saint Valentine and turned it into a holiday.
Dont take my word for it though. I'm just bsing here.

I geuss it's probably just like Christmas. Taking traditions of certain people and capitalizing on it.

its a hallmark holiday because the traditions include buying pointless shit for other people and having them buy it for you.
It is a holiday that has no religious meaning, no historical significants and is basically something for all those fluffy annoying couples to celebrate by dressing in pink and feeding each other chocolates.
When you were a kid you bought valentines by the boxes, as a teenager you bought teddy bears for your girlfriend or boyfriend and when you get married you buy more shit like jewlery or whatever. You celebrate by purchasing.
Why do we need a holiday to show and express love? Shouldn't love be an emotion, not a materialistic gift? Everything has to have a market value.
Which is why its a hallmark holiday.

I completely agree with you, but I still think that it's not just Valentine's Day, it's every holiday.

And i dont agree that its every holiday. Mabye every holiday is meaning less to you but to a lot of people days such as Easter and Christmas have a ton of meaning.

Christmas and just about every holiday mean alot to me, it's still commercialized.

I fucking hate christmas. I hate Easter. I hate celebrating this bullshit because apparently when you have money it means you care and when you are poor, you don't.
