and to whomever said that the F major barre chord was the easiest barre chord, i can play a lot of chords easier than that one, its definetly not the easiest barre, at least for me...my fingers go in weird directions...try Bm

this is also one of the most popular barre formations, so if you learn that one, you'll learn a lot of barre chords
another suggestion would be to buy a book or two on theory and/or guitar basics especially if you plan on forming a band sooner or later. i think its kinda weird when i see semi-experienced guitar players who don't have a clue as to what chord they're playing. you'll also need it when you read or write music (beyond tab)
LOL. That's a problem I have now. I can play my own stuff, but I dunno how to write it down besides putting standard notation above chord names and strumming pattern at the top. That all takes way too long when ur playing it as it plays in ur head, and trying to write it down;.
