I just saw an old Jewel video on TV. She is seriously so much hotter in her old videos than as a slut in her new one...

When I was growing up, I had 3 idols...Jewel, Alanis Morsette and Gren from No Doubt. I liked Jewel cause she was rocking out there with just her, her voice, and an acousitic guitar, but know she's slutty, Alanis is slap happy, and Gwen...grr...WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE WHOLE "SKA-PUNK" MUSIC!!!???!!!???

"i can sell what you want me to sell,
sell yourself, just cash in."

thats the only line that even made me think about it being a parody. either she thinks its cute to still in a couple of 'pop-culture is stupid' lines in with a completly pop album, or she's a freakin genius and has turned this all on everyone who thinks shes sold out...im still not sure which one it is.

would make sense for one song... but an entire album?

yeah, see i dont get that. the whole parody thing for one song and video makes perfect sense, but to pair it with a trashy album...

It's not a parody. She sold out. End of story.

 I really hope this is just a temporarily style for her. I could not believe that "Intuition" was a Jewel song when I first heard it. If she's just trying to parody the whole pop scene, it's definitely time for her to go back to normal now. :P

Really. Then explain the bit in her video where "Jewel sounds so much better now that she's dancing!!" scrolls across the screen all TRL style.

And becuase it's pseudo-relevant:
Why Jewel is cooler than Ani DiFranco

PS: Read the "popularity" bit.

It is.....she called it a "project" because she wanted to prove to everybody that she could get away from the whole folk-type-scene and still do well.

Her album is actually quite good........besides the lame track titles.
