Alan, there are people who go into synagogues and shoot people up in the name of Christ a few times a year at least.

replace "one nation, under god, indivisible" with "one nation, under canada, over mexico".

It's simple.

actually i was referring to all three religons, and there are many christians that still believe killing in the name of god is noble, besides classifing people into groups only cause diffrences to appear, which cause intolerance and hate, you can't deny that organized religon has caused more death and suffering then anything else in our history, and like i said, how is breaking your cardinal sins ok it's in you gods name? i don't think he asked anyoneto start discrimnating, hating, or hurting others. Quite the oppoiste. besides as a person of undecided religon (or at least undefined) i somtimes find it offensive to see over zealous fanatics, acting blindly or hatefully. Ignornace, Hate, Intolerance, Bias, and Inequality are all the anti-thesis of my beliefs. If you ask me if there is a god i think he believes the same thing, and all you fanatics have goneso far into the details, you've forgotton what it's really about. But backto the origanal subject, a simple changing of wording won't hurt anyone, and it will stop those offended or uncomfortable feelings of Non-Christians.

people that say, 'you dont have to say it' are full of it. i was forced to say it. the whole thing, every word and if i didnt, i would get detention. i think under god should be taken out. i do believe in god, but its completely unfair to those who dont. another thing that pisses me off is that gays cant get married but a straight person can. again though, i am straight, so dont give me shit saying, well its b/c you want it for you or something. i dont understand how a government can you tell you cant get married just b/c of your sexual preference. how do they have the right to say you are wrong when it comes to that? i just dont understand it.

Well, first off it depends on the state. But yes, in most states it is not viewed as a legal binding. This does not mean a couple can't go out and still have a marriage. They just won't be placed in the government's "married" bracket. Whether or not that means anything to the individuals, I don't know. There are a few states that do allow for gay marriages, though.

Oh, I don't know, because they're socially stigmatized and told by the government that they can't marry who they want to marry?

I'd be pissed off too.

I hope so. It's all part of the conservative government's trying to impose their arbitrary "morals" on everybody else.
