ok, one of the flutes was in i think the first dungeon castle thing in the first world. right at the end of the first part, instead of going through the door, get the cool leaf feather thingy and fly right up the wall and forward, and you will find yourself in a little room where you beat this guy and get the flute.

someone correct anything that was wrong in my instructions.... and where's the second one...? i haven't played it in ages.

I miss three games from the NES.

1. Ducktales (A-woo-ooh)
2. Super Tecmo Bowl (I like QB Eagles #1)
3. Bomberman

However, I loved seeing it because this "new game" was Super Mario 3 and I got to see little bits and pieces of it

Anyway, I totally forgot about that movie before I read this thread (probably for good reason...)

The Wizard!! I love that movie, Fred Savage at his best, lol.

Fred Savage was in that? :wtf: I was too young at the time to remember something like that. So would you say it was a good movie? For some reason I remember it not being that great, but that was a while back. Maybe I'll need to rent it...is it still even in stores?

Woah. You've never seen... wow. I'd tell you, but it'd be impossible for me to explain... search on the internet, I'm sure plenty of sites tell you. :)

Pretty cool review, thanks for posting.

"Siskel reportedly shoved his thumb up Ebert's nose."

btw - isn't "Poprocks and Coke" a Green Day song?

"Unfortunately, the Wizard is out of print in the States"

I don't think you have to beat anybody to get the first flute, but the directons are good. The other flute is in the second world (the Egyptian one), you have to get the hammer from one of the hammer brothers and then go to the top right of the world and use the hammer to break the rock, you can then go further to the right where you have to beat some more hammer brothers and then you get the second flute.

you missed a flute in the third level of the first world. near the end of the level, there is a white platform. stand ontop of it and hold the down button. if you are big, you should fall right through, and go behind everything. then run towards the end, and go behind the the black background. there should be a flute there.

Yep, there's three flutes. I don't like getting them, personally, though. I like to beat the whole game. :)

And, yep, there's a Green Day song called Poprocks & Coke. Mike's a big GD fan. You should check out his whole site, it's hilarious. I wish he lived closer to me, so we could hang out more often. He's a fun guy. And, he's got cool hair. (Hahah, I'm so odd.)

The fastest way to beat Super Mario Bros. 3 is to grab the warp whistle in world 1 level 3, grab the warp whistle in the world 1 fortress, use one of them to take you to the warp zone, then use a second warp whistle while you're inside the warp zone and it will take you to the lower part of the map where you can go straight to world 8.

Yup three flutes. Theres so much figgin content in that game. You can go through the entire game and miss like half of it. Not once did i see that note ship thing with the hammer brother dudes, the first time through. I really need to play Mario 3 again.. im forgeting all the names :(

Haha I managed to set up the NES! I got halfway through world 3 (no cheating) before i got called away from my game. SMB3 rocks every sock in existance. i just wish you could save the games.

NES = WIN

Hehe, that's why I play it on Mario All Stars for SNES... cos that version lets you save the games. It's slightly different... I wish the graphics weren't fixed up, plus you either slip more or slip less (I forget which), but other than that, it's the same game, plus saves. Score! :D

And, yes, Poprocks & Coke is a great song! In fact, I think I'm gonna listen to it right now! Whee!! Heh, I just went from listening to Greenwheel to Green Day.
