About the original post, about OLP playing Michigan, all I have to say about that is: (I was going to write something about how pissed that made me, but I could only stare at my monitor for a few minutes at a loss for words. So yeah, dissapointed.)

It's sick how they play Detroit soooooo much, but they don't give a flying fuck about their hometown.

They want to sell records. OLP knows they can dominate in Canada, it's a fact. Here in America, if you want to sell records, you have to be big in one of 4 cities, either Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, or Detroit. We here in Detroit love OLP, and they give us shows, considering we're a HUGE music market. Out of the 500,000 records they sold in the US, a huge chunk of it had to come from Detroit. They need to be big somewhere in America, and Detroit is practically Canada, it's an important music city, and OLP are huge in the city.

ahhh alan..... defending the homeland are you..... whats up eh
lol

OLP isn't gonna play canada as much as the US because they've entered the US mainstream now and lets face it....... we are MUCH bigger than canada...... more money, more shows, more fans........ thats how it works.... anyways......... i find myself not listening to OLP as much anymore since there are a lot of other bands out there that are of equal talent. such as ALK TRIO, THURSDAY, MOIST, AFI, etc.
u get the idea.

If they're trying to lose Canadian fans, they sure know what they're doing.

Honestly, I am sick of OLP. If they come to Michigan, they better play The Wonderful Future, or I would throw my fucking shoes at them. After hearing what happened to the CMers that went to the Rochester show, I can't fathom myself paying to hear the same songs over and over again. They either have to amaze people live, or they have to get the popularity stick out of their asses.

This is why Alkaline Trio, or any "punk" band is better. They aren't mainstream enough to treat their fans like garbage. They are nice to their fans. Alkaline Trio never has a normal set list. They always change. They usually keep Radio in their set list as the closing song, but besides that, it's up in the air as to what the other songs you'll hear. And on top of that, the band invites people to drink a beer with them and hang out after the show. When was the last time Raine posted something on olp.com like "after the show, come on the bus and have a beer with the band!"
