OLP and Drugs
The cd booklete reads: "The drugs AND fake ambition, have been helping me to hide".
Seems to me that its saying that the drugs are simply masking what "said person", knows is wrong, which can be considered a form of hiding. Hiding from realizing the obvious. Well thats my take anyway, feel free to enlighten me. All in all its another "anti-drug" line in my eyes.

The drugs and fake ambitions are helping this person to hide from reality. The drugs do that obviously, the fake ambitions are like him saying "It's okay for me to do this now, because later on I'll go be a doctor" (or something like that). But even with those things holding him back, it's the endless TV that's keeping him inside. That would be the mass media and technology that's taking over the world, turning people into trolls and keeping them inside. But where does it stop? Where does it end? Where will we go?!?

I think Sleeping In is about drugs, in an "I thought they were bad, but now I understand why people use them" sort of way. And I'm not sure it would count, because it isn't their song, but the Neil Young cover they used to play is about drugs ruining people's lives.

meh... I think Junkie isn't about drugs at all, it's just people obsessions as a whole...
but I guess only Raine really knows what its all about eh?

thats what i thought it was...guess i was right

and a lot of what everybody else said is basically what i was trying to say. the drugs and fake ambitions have been helping him hide--->he's not ebing himself/hiding what he really is by drug use and hiding behind "fake ambition". and the endless television..-->same as what i said earlier. seeing people on tv and trying to eb what they are. and so you arent being yourself and its the endless televsion that has kept me inside! it was a lot easier explaining that after everybody worded it out for me

this song and consequence of laughing seem kind fo teh same to me. different, but the same. haha, i "dont know how to explain". somebody word it out for me. im an idiot.

I always thought of consequence being about people trying to hide their real problems and find ways to not have to confront them, if thats drugs than so be it, but I think it can be anything really

but I don't think the two songs parallel each other really. Junkie seems more about human obsession. It speaks of church, alcohol, drugs, media, knowledge, and a sense of belonging. All of those are the largest obsessions we as humans have. It's pretty much talking about how we become a lil too obsessed with a lot of things in life, so much that we forget to step back, and take a breath (everything's gone black...)

I dont agree with that, but then again i dont really have my own oppinion on its deeper meaning at the moment.
