and you hate her image and her music because the next guy does.

ok. her music may not be your cup of tea but i refuse to believe your overall opinion of her is solely yours.

and her image? she doesn't have an image besides the one people like you gave her. i wear dickies pants, converse shoes, and have a wallet chain just like she does. do i have an image now too and do you hate me for it? she dressed like this long before she was popular.

Yes, she has said she is punk. I don't like any image that is "Hey, look at me, I'm _____". She obviously regrets that because she's now saying that she never said that.

Secondly, I couldn't care less what the "next guy" says or thinks. My opinions are MY OPINIONS. You can't tell me otherwise.

the entire debate in the stripped thread is based on opinions.

and your opinion is biased. you're stubborn. i'm sure you never gave her or her music a fair chance. you're like oh popular sk8er chick. i don't like her. and then you hear her song and you're like her music sucks too and you only think this because you have already formed an opinion of it.

if someone had set you down and played her album for you, with you have no prior knowledge of her or her music, your opinion would be a lot different. again, you may not like it that much because it's just not your taste, but i'm sure you wouldn't hate it unmercifully like you do now.

Stop telling my my opinion. I don't like her music. That's all there is to it.

I don't have to listen to her whole album to know that I don't like her music. Unless all of her songs that aren't singles are completely different than her singles, which I highly doubt they are.

And you too are stubborn. You can't accept the fact that my opinion differs from yours. Accept it. People think differently, and have different tastes.

You can't tell me that my opinion is biased. You have no idea what my opinion is based on. It is based on me not liking her music. I could say that your opinion of Gravity is biased because you don't like it, but that makes no sense at all. You telling me the same thing about her album makes just as little sense.

i heard gravity long before the masses did. i formed an opinion then.

millions of people had opinions on avril before you did.

and you're telling me that had ABSOLUTELY ZERO effect on you?

If that was true, I probably wouldn't like OLP because all the people that I hang out with hate them.

Um YM is crap .. magazines like that take words and warp them to what will appeal to young crowds, that's all magazines like that do .. I mean a magazine that's main article is "10 ways to win your crush's heart" is not meant to be taken seriously .. that magazine is for 12 year olds .. pure trash and entertainment .. of course they would have twisted Avril's words around since they did have a feature on "how to dress punk" and could easily use Avril's "image" to support that ..

Going back to what was mentioned earlier:

Avril wrote the majority of her songs .. she had co-writers because a lot of her songs were written when she was younger (she's beening singing since she was a little kid) so they helped her tweak the lyrics a bit (no different than Bob telling Raine to 'simplify things')

Also, every video she's had has had numerous shots of both her AND her band .. she is the singer and the writer, of course most of the attention is gonna be on her .. just like in OLP's video's you're gonna see more of Raine than the others ..

This Avril bashing really needs to stop .. how many threads have been created just for that purpose? I mean seriously .. get over it already .. I've listened to Avril's cd more than Gravity in the past few months that's for sure ..
