I didn't call anyone unintelligent .. I meant punk_skittle appears more intelligent because she's having a conversation WITHOUT insulting anyone, without insulting anyone's musical tastes and without calling anyone lame or judging anyone .. which NO ONE else in this thread has managed to do .. so yeah, I have more respect for her

he's only joking? right .. I forgot how funny it is to call someone a lamer and make other people feel bad .. silly me

yes but its also one thing to say what I said.....and walk away and not say another word, stay in spite basically. But I apologized to you, I have nothing against you and I apologize for calling you a "lamer"

that was my bad.....I straight out apologize and this is the last thing I'll even speak of this b/c its completey been thrown off the topic and is pointless.

If you'd like to keep it going though.....I'll look in the CGN section.

I'm surprised that this "Punk Skittle" had the nerve to come on to an OLP message board and directly insult the band.

OLP has had 5 successful albums, 18 popular singles (16 of which have videos which still get airplay) and have even headlined their own music festival, featuring bands such as Foo Fighters and Smashing Pumpkins (who, by the way, opened for OLP).

Now, this "Punk Skittle" has the nerve to say that OLP should be thankful that they get to play a few songs before this whiney bitch who sings pop music, yet is so "punk rawk", who has a team of writers writing songs for her and a band of nameless boys who play the music for her.

Sorry to any Avril fans. I just got home from a long day at work, and I'm in a bad mood, so I was probably harsher than I meant to be. Sorry.

I think the problem with this is their music is so differnt. You won't find many AVRIL fans really into OLP and vice versa, buy hey is this tour turns som eAVRIL fan s onto OLP more power to it, and if more OLP fans decide that AVRIL isn't that bad, more pwoer to that also.

I just don't like how they are opening for basically a new comer becasue she is more popular then OLP are.

POPULARITY doesn't mean more talented. Just means that, more popular.

that is all I will say, because it is pointless to argue over somethign this trival. anyway it is a weird pairing.

Punk Skittle never once insulted OLP .. although many CMer's have openly bashed Avril AND Punk Skittle for no reason other than their own bitter feelings over this

Having 5 successful albums compared to Avril's 1 successful album shouldn't matter .. Avril went platinum (or was it double platinum?) in 2 months of her album being out. Give her time. A band could have 10 albums out, that doesn't matter .. I'd rather have 1 solid album then 10 shitty ones. Not saying OLP is shitty obviously but the amount of records out doesn't matter.

Axtech wrote:Now, this "Punk Skittle" has the nerve to say that OLP should be thankful that they get to play a few songs before this whiney bitch who sings pop music, yet is so "punk rawk", who has a team of writers writing songs for her and a band of nameless boys who play the music for her.

OLP is getting a lot of exposure from this, they shouldn't neccessarily be thankful but they're not losing anything by doing this, in fact, they may gain a fan or two. Avril has been called 'punk' by many people based on her IMAGE, she doesn't go around calling herself punk. Judge her by her music not the clothes she wears .. she doesn't have a team of writers, she wrote the majority of her lyrics but wrote a lot of them when she was younger, she had a co-writer who helped her on a few songs to improve them. Kinda like Bob telling Raine to 'simplify' things and change this or that. Avril's band isn't nameless to their fans, only to people who don't care to find out their names .. Raine doesn't play guitar for the majority of his time on stage, Avril doesn't play guitar on stage either .. does it matter? OLP is an established band that's been around for like 10 years .. Avril is young and fresh and just beginning. You can't compare the two bands ..

*sigh* Why won't this topic die?

And, I'd like to point out that in this thread, I did not insult anyone. I made a joke about OLP fans being "music elitists". Which, to me sounds like an insult, and it was what she opened up her first post with. But, whatever.

*leaves thread because she's soooo tired of this crap*

Because we have a couple of morons who won't let a topic go that obviously doesn't affect us here. You people are not going to fly over to Europe to see OLP play, so let it go. You people want to bitch about this? Either bitch on AIM about this topic, or why don't you fly over to Europe and take it up with the people whose opinions really matter, the band's. I doubt any of you would have enough balls to tell OLP off because they're opening for Avril Lavigne, so don't be a bad ass on the board and bitch about it. Let it go.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

Now that I'm rested and I've come back, I can see that I was indeed more harsh than I had intended. I apologize.

I do, however, think that it is quite odd for OLP to open for Avril, but it's in Europe. Everything's weird over there... :freak:
