here in dfw, tx...SOT gets more airplay than any other OLP song ever...which sucks...

i personally think 'do you like it' should be the next [or a] single...

yeh, that song's really catchy too
Death gives meaning to our lives, it gives importance and value to time. Time would become meaningless if there were too much of it.

SOT gets a decent amount of airplay here, but it's fading fast. I don't think it topped the airplay that Superman's Dead got. Something about that song, there was a lot of excitement surrounding it and a lot of people would call in and demand to hear it. The same with Clumsy, although not quite to the degree of Superman's Dead. Not so many people call in to hear SOT. The radio station just plays it. I haven't heard much of Innocent at all, though. I hope they start to play it a little more.

Dude-maybe its jsut me, but i think that any song that the choose to play off of the cd is good. THEY ALL ROCK. Innocent is perfect to be a single to get all the dopey people who only know singles to know the band a little...but... i do also fear that it will make olp seem too pop-ish. I agree with what others said-Do You Like It...taht or A STORY ABOUT A GIRL! ANywyas...im done-concert august 10th for me..woot.
Whats a signature?

It all seems so contaigious, not to be yourself and faceless in a song that has no soul.

And maybe you just need, a friend, as clumsy as youve been...

ye gods, that's probably right, but I recall Naveed getting a lot of play on 97.1 the Eagle. that's the reason I bought Naveed in the first place and went to see them in concert. of course, that was in '94-95.

I still think the show last week was better than the '94-95 I saw, though.

The thing about Gravity is that it is a VERY radio friendly CD. The only song that i can think of that you wouldn't release to radio is Sell my Soul. That being said, i think Innocent will be a huge hit, it has that radio sound to it.

I'm not sure about what the response is in the states, but in Canada SOT got huge airplay because OLP is a marquee name. They get radio play no matter what. But SOT crossed over to pop radio very quickly here, and the burn rate on SOT is pretty large. Over time OLP has been less succesful on rock radio, ever since IAH was released. They have still been big but the hype of SD, Clumsy and OMA has not been seen in the last few singles.

THat's why i was hoping for All For You as the next single. It would be a HUGE rock radio hit. But i'll settle for Innocent :D

You're lucky. I'd kill to see a Naveed-only concert. I have Rich & Shelley's compilation set, and on the first tape, they have a concert where they play all Naveed songs and the Needle and the Damage Done, and it's the coolest concert I've ever seen.

Raine is dressed down and has a beard and isn't as concerned with looking cool as he is with creating music, and it's inspiring. His stage theatrics kind of irritate me these days, even though they are cool, admittedly.

i love the "stage theatrics". its almost as if he feels the music so strongly that it takes him over completely and he has no control over his body

not that much anymore i guess cuz of his back...but his antics don't radiate, uh, staged ( ) energy like a lot of musicians that just try to get the crowd riled up without even feeling the beat of the music

He must've been feeling good at the concert I went to because he was quite entertaining. Actually they all were, but Raine did some crazy things with the mic, and the arms, especially the arms, and he jumped around a lot. My sister didn't know he did weird stuff like that and she was like, "uhhh, what's he doing." He also climbed up the lighting into the balcony and then jumped off the balcony into the crowd, who caught him, thank God, and he crowd surfed back up to the stage. I'd say that's pretty damn entertaining.

oh yeah, and he totally doesn't look fake about it. he seemed like he was really into what he was doing and really feeling it. he looked like he had a passion for what he was doing. at the beginning of the concert i was in with all the moshy people but i moved out of there just so that i could watch uninterrupted. that's what the concert turned into for me. i just wanted to watch and listen...it really was something i would rather observe than mosh through.

he did that at the austin show, too...was pretty sweet. i think his whole 'thing' is kinda choreographed or hes just done it so many times, because at both the austin and houston shows he basically did the same things. only major difference was there was nowhere he could really safely climb at the houston show, so he really got to perform one man army. as much as i thought the whole jumping off the balcony thing was cool, the song suffered a lot, which was kind of a shame, cause i think that its possibly their best live song.

:( I wish i lived in canada....but....nooooooo chicago. olp gets pretty shitty radio play for the most part. I guess SOT gets a sufficient amount...but OLP does not get teh credit the deserve. All that ever gets played are the singles (Ive only heard SOT and life)...sigh...oh welll...at least tehre wont be a lot of teeny boppers who think they are big fans but only know the singles. Hate those types...

Vague Question: Hows the OLP fanbase in the US? Im turning all my friends to the light side... :D
