It's not spelled "Jairemy"! It's spelled "Jeremy", so I pronounce it as so! Rhymes with "her" and "per"! And yes, I've called him "Jer" many times, and he responds just fine, thankyouverymuch.

LOL, okay so here's my input on this debate: I think the "Juhrr" pronunciation is acceptable (and I've heard it) when you're just calling him "Jer", but when you say "Jeremy" (the full name), it is pronounced as "Jair-emy". I've never heard anyone say "Juhrr-emy". Unless they have a speech slur. LOL.

English has pretty much the most messed up spelling system of any language out there.

Pronunciation does not always reflect spelling in the English language. As the famous example states, 'fish' could be spelled 'ghoti', and still be pronounced correctly. 'gh' from 'enough', 'o' from 'women', and 'ti' from 'motion'.

Thus, your argument falls through due to the inefficiency of the English spelling system.
