This is sad and pathetic that you had to split a topic and put a mocking title to something I was serious about. I didn't have anything to do with everyone else's comments, that followed mine, but wow, who ever did this. Very immature.

Since this is basically Matts board and he's the one that keeps it up and running on a daily basis and pays the bills for the hosting, I'd say it's his board to moderate as he chooses.

If you don't like how things are being handled your not forced to stay. Your more than welcome to create your own message board.

This is basically how other (Much larger) message boards I'm a member of are handled.

Neil, everyone, it's okay. Seriously. I didn't read the previous page after what I had posted, as I said I was done with the what I had to say. So I didn't know Sarah split the topic, Johnny just told me. It's fine if a moderator thought that it should be discussed somewhere else, but my post on this page was because of the immaturity level of the thread title. Taking things lightly because you have power to skew things for the better of some members doesn't make a person any more correct in a person's argument.

But seriously, everyone, let it go. Just don't put up with anyone's shit, mods or any member. a lot of people have had stuff deleted or moved or censored before and that's fine, it's usually justified, but don't put up with anyone mistreating your opinion as not equal or let it slip by that certain members have a more important opinion than you do, because of who they are, who they're friends with or if they even have any controlling power on the board. You're just as entitled to say what you want to say and although you can't edit or move other people's posts who might offend you with something just as offensive as anything you can say, only from an opposite point of view, doesn't mean you have to respect that offensive opinion OR for that matter put up with it. You just don't have the power to make it go away, that's the only difference.

Neil and Johnny, I just brought up you guys and the racism example the other day, because it was an example of the bias on the board, only that example wasn't due to specific members. So let it go guys.

Just leave it at that.

I'm not conceding. Or letting it go. I have an utter disgust issue with how certain members of this board are treated. While others get put up on a g'damn cloud and can piss on all of us. Now we're supposed to sit here and take it? I'm not going to.

And top of my gut feeling that I just wanted to shut up and let it go. The topic at hand gets mocked. It's completely unjustified.

And Sammi, nothing against you (I heart you!!) but I have an issue with Nikki right now. I don't feel its appropriate for her having no creative control on this website to fucking call me (or Johnny) out simply because we have any issue what so ever with the band. Then because we feel the way we do; we then get mocked and told we're "beating a dead horse".

Can I just say something? Full disclosure.
As a mod, I have only ever split this topic and I believe one other topic. That's it. I've never taken an argument or debate and 'done something about it'. I've never deleted posts except for porn bots.

As for my opinion? The only one talking shit is you Lando for calling modspiricy when it mostly comes down to you thinking people are more/less important than you are. If you want me to start filtering through everything everyone says, then I definitely will but I have been letting people say what they want because most people know each other here, and are capable of handling a conversation with sarcasm and insults and not taking things so personally. I'm sorry if you think I was taking light of things by making a title but that was not my intention.

Neil what is it exactly that you want accomplished? I get that Nikki is currently bugging you, but like you, she was stating her opinion. I think i can safely say that we have all be ticked off with someone on here at one time or another. We are human after all. If you believe that there is a hierarchy on this board I would suggest that you are right up there near the top, which means that you have been provided as much leniency as others.

So far as my personal opinion, I find the modding on this board pretty fair, Matt allowing things to work themselves out.

For the record i do have issues with using the n and f words. I have too many friends who have been marginalized by those terms and I can't support the use of them regardless of the context they are used in.

That's fine if you feel as though I'm near the top. I'll take that in to respect. However, my bitterness isn't completely my own personal issue with anybody or anything. Its with other people being treated unfairly as well.

Such as earlier. Lando was not talking shit. His points were completely valid. But people take it as talking shit. I know Lando well enough to know this isn't something he's trying to instigate.

Hell maybe I'm trying to instigate?! I just don't agree with the skewed observations that get made some times.

I take jabs at people; however, I do my best not to make them personal.

Christine I give you credit for not allowing your personal opinion on certain words to filter on to this board. I do. I'll admit I've used choice language on the board. Do I always take heartfelt feelings into consideration? No. So I'll attempt to work on that.

However, its when there is bias treatment and responses right in front of our faces. And the appropriate people turn their shoulder away....that's when it gets way shitty.

And you're completely correct. I do have a current issue with Nikki. My problem is that when I gave my opinion the other night...her response was basically a "shut the fuck up". She can have her opinion. Leave it at that. And not agree with me. Instead I'm x'ing out of the thread feeling like I'm a pile for feeling the way that I feel.

Geez, I'm glad I didn't have a stressful day at work. I don't know that this should have been split off, since I thought that myself, Neil, and Lando were all heading towards being on the right page. Now there is more chaos. Fighting breeds fighting. I think I said that somewhere, but not before stealing it from someplace else. Sarah and Saman did what they thought was best in my absence. Please don't fault them for that. I actually like the title because it sums up the topic at hand. I can see both sides of the argument about it, but I think it fits. I'll try and work backwards here.

Brian, agreed with part of what Neil said, no need to kiss ass. You don't have a dog in this fight, or car in this race, I think the latter is for you, but thank you for stating your opinion. I probably will make the decisions that I think are best, and that are in the interest of keeping peace on the board.

I make mistakes from time to time, and if I'm called out on them I'll man up and admit it. Hopefully I've established that in the last day. Laurel stated their is a hierarchy here, and I would say that is true, and has been for a long time now. I am absolutely more partial to those of us out on the East side, probably because I have met most all of them in person, and have had great experiences with them all. On the other hand, I have yet to meet any of you from Alberta/Saskatchewan/Minnesota in person. I have no real idea what you are like on the other side of the screen. Hopefully someday I get to. I've also never met Sarah or Saman. I think that lack of personal bonding alienates to a degree. So we feel that friendship on a different level, and naturally feel inclined to defend our buddies until the end. I'll probably always feel more inclined to side with those I'm close to, just as Laurel will feel inclined to side with Lando (as an example).

Neil, you misspelled pedestal. I thought one of the girls would have caught that. You're slipping!

On the subject of criticizing OLP, your opinion is welcome. I think it would be taken better if some of the comments broke down exactly what it is that isn't liked about the song, instead of general comments. Do you not like the lyric structure, the guitar, Raine's voice, the drums, is Duncan's hair getting too thin and no one really wants to say something about it, etc? Pointing the blame at Bob Rock and saying the Mike was the reason they lost what they had is a tired and worn out argument. Not a single one of us sat in on those sessions where the music was made, or sat with them in front of Sony, so it's not a fair method of assessing blame. The evidence seems to point in that direction, but no one will know for sure. In short, make your criticism, but please break down your case so everyone can understand.

If any of you have personal issue with someone else, please, please, use the private message system and duke it out there, or have rational discussion about the problem. I can't read what you say in PM, nor can anyone else. There you don't have to worry about having your stuff deleted or moved. Don't take it to the point of harassing the other person. Talk it out like the adults that all of you are, with the exception of Shanae and Jen, though they are pretty mature for their ages.

What it all boils down to is, we all want to come here as a means of enjoyment and expressing ourselves. Please give each other the respect you want in return. Myself, Josh, Sarah, and Saman (and Melissa and Al when they visit) will do our best to keep things friendly and fair.
