What about taking a train, Nikki? Maybe there is one that goes to somewhere somebody can pick you up.
Nikki = South Jersey, near Philadelphia.

Oh, that's only about three or four hours from Albany, should be an easy trip!

Stay at whatever hotel we decide on that night and I can always give you a ride back to TO in the morning.

Looking at Expedia the same Marriott is priced from $122.
My travel iteninerary from work shows the room price at $180 a night (we're getting screwed)
There's a Holiday Inn Express for a little over $100 a night. I'll have to ask my sister if she can book like 5 rooms at an employee rate.

Train to Albany's still $118.

Plus $7 to get to Philly and chipping in for gas for the rest of the way. Then adding in the hotel, and it just gets way too pricey for me.
I swear when me and Melissa took Greyhound to Canada to see Pedestrian, it was under a hundred bucks. Stupid economy.
Oh wells. I tried! You guys better have a great time for me!

Megan - You have my permission to club Nikka over the head and transport her across state and federal lines.
Just wear some Canadian Flag apparal and a poppy and they won't have any reason to search your trunk at customs.

I did not read all of this..
I saw Chantal and Raine in Brampton in 06;.. I flew into Pearson Airport You can get the GO bus from there.. or you can get it from Downtown Toronto( across from ACC and Union Station)
I think it was under $20 ( I think it was between $4-$7. One Way) I can not remember.. It is only a 20 minute -30 minute ride. I stayed at the Comfort Inn(-It was ok, and close to the station and venue.. They had a continential breakfest( eggs, bagels, etc..)
but there are alot of cheaper motels/hotels in the area. It was very quiet for me and pretty dead. I said if I ever saw a show there again I am just going to GO BUS it back to Toronto.

The closest hotel to the 'venue' assuming they are part of the city's celebrations would be the Howard Johnson Express Inn and suites
http://www.hojo.com/HowardJohnson
even a suite with taxes is only 140 regular two beds 108
the next closest is the comfort inn
neither are particularly special in any way and i am sure if you wanted the hassle of dealing with transporting yourself back to toronto on NYE then there is many more options. it is 40 km to get to downtown.

the marriot is a little further away but not much and has a two story water slide
their rates are more expensive but with a aaa caa discount you can get a king suite for 175, of course you say 2 or 3 people are staying and pile in as many as you are comfortable with. there is a king bed and a pull out in the other living area and 750sq ft. get two of those ( they offer attached rooms if requested ) and for 350 everyone can stay.

Cool, I'm definitely coming to see OLP!

I like the water slide idea

Oh, and since I seem to have forgotten my manners somewhere along the line, thanks so much to everyone who was trying to help me get to this.
In true "Nikki" fashion, in my head I keep going back and forth on it. I only make like $50 a week, so I really shouldn't... but I hate missing out on it when you guys all get together. And it's been way to frigging long since I saw OLP. Bah.
I don't knowwwwwwwwww.

E-mail your congressman. Ask for a bailout.
(PS: Don't tell him the money will be pumped into the Canadian economy)

Yeah but Nikki isn't the CEO of some major corporation, nor is she going to be the recipient of a multi-million dollar bonus as reward for driving said company into the ground. No bailout for her!

Nikki you could take Megabus from Philly to NY NYC to Albany for under 20$. If you plan your trip right some of the buses are $1 but they can cost as much as $19 for the same route.
Lets say you planed to travel Dec 30 return Jan 2 ( granted it might mean hanging with Megan)
Philly to NYC tickets range from $4-$7
NYC to Albany tickets are $10 (one is $25)
return
same price from NYC to philly
and Albany to NYC ranges from $1 - $19
so it really can be done pretty cheaply

Nikki, if you are still unsure you should really try to figure it out soon. I'd imagine that hotels over new years would get booked up quickly.

Anyone know when details and prices are going to be announced?

I'll take that as a tongue in cheek question.
For the serious answer: No. I have checked the city of Brampton's website a few times, as well as Ticketbastard.ca and the other usual sites. We'll have it here first...or second.
