Thier commercial success bottomed out for HIPT and A Decade. When you have no label support it's hard to get the exposure you need.

Yeah, their label blows. Maybe OLP should put on eyeliner and cry about ex girlfriends. It seems to be the trend in music now.

Well when you put out a single like "Where Are You", it's going to be tough to get label support. :D

I think afterwards they realized it wasn't the best choice for an opening single.

Their main supporter at Sony left in 2004 or 2005, which pushed them out of the spotlight with the company. I believe he is one of the same gentlemen who helped push Jeff Buckley's recordings as well.

Will they tour Australia this time? I remember back in the day on The Hub, Nikki said that once they release their last album, or an album while being out of their Sony Contract, they'd come to tour Aus since they've really been wanting to do it but Sony won't let them, or something?

I think they mentioned wanting to tour Australia for Healthy in Paranoid Times... but then didn't make it out of North America. I don't see Sony supporting them touring anywhere if they won't even bother to release their albums there anymore.

studio

Just got back from a week spent in Raine's studio. We recorded the beds to 3 new songs and worked up a few more. I'm really pumped about the new music. Keep your eyes open for some photos. I will post some soon.

Best,

Duncan

If olp's new stuff is gonna be "better than here" and "kiss on the mouth" style, the next album gonna blow us all. in its good meaning, that is.

I always thought Better Than Here was horribly bad. I liked parts of Kiss on the Mouth though.
