People on Oink.me.uk seem to be disappointed with it. I downloaded it just to get my share ratio up, but haven't listened to it... and won't. What's the point when it's only a week away? I don't want to spoil the CD release. I've waited 3 1/2 years. What's one more week?

I'm really glad that I pre-ordered it now. Because I am flat broke and wouldn't be able to buy it when it comes out. But since I already bought it, that doesn't matter! Woo!!

I listened to it earlier yesterday... To be honest. Not as impressed as I could be. Maybe during the 3 year break, I've change my tastes. Still... I'll give it a couple more tries and hope it'll grow.

Yeah, the three years changed my perspective a bit too.
It's a really solid "emo" album, but i was hoping for more maturity.
Still, a few really good songs and i like it enough to have played it probably seven or eight times in the last three days.

The last album broke the whole emo label for the band anyway, putting a lot more alternative and straightforward rock into their music than YFW had... so I don't know what all this talk about it being a good emo record is... unless they've regressed to the style of the first album more.

note the quotation marks. it's along the lines of their last one style-wise. if anything it's more mature, but isnt anything overly original.
Routine enough that i'd still carefully call it emo for lack of a better term, and because i assume you guys know what i'm talking about.
and yeah. i listened to HiPT twice, maybe three times. and i have no intention of giving this solo travesty a chance.

Yeah I'll stick with my emo as hell Jesse Lacey for a while, I think.
I have to agree with you though. There was such a difference between YFW and Deja that I think I was expecting something really different from what this clearly is going to be. Sort of surprising.
But still good. heh. I've been listening to more and more of the demos recently because I can't wait for this cd. Weee!

If this was my first Brand New album, I don't think I'd buy it after only hearing half the songs like I did with Deja, but it is pretty good. Some of the demos were better, sure, but anyone who complains about this album is a tool.

Golly, any man with only one post to his name deserves my utmost attention, especially in regards to what I should and should not listen to.
Thank you dogswantin, for showing me the light.
