Hockey is unfair in the olympics, I think, ESPECIALLY womens hockey. The only team that will provide any kind of competition is the US. Canada is huge on womens hockey. We're about the only country in the world.
Mens hockey is alot more evenly matched, especially like Sweden, Russia, Canada and the US, you see alot of NHL players playing for their countries in those instances.
I agree!
Maybe worried wasn't the right word. I was just surprised to see Canada tied with Italy at 1-1. I was wondering if our players were all jet-lagged and hadn't woken up yet!

the US team sucks this year
Russia, Sweden, Finland, Czech Republic, are probably all better
the US goalies arent very good, and their D is so old it might turn to dust

Oh No, I wasn't trying to exclude, I was only thinking of a couple off my head. The Mens teams are all good.
What's the story on this guy... I don't know all the details aside from:
"Begg-Smith moved to Australia as a 15 year old with his older brother after deciding they could no longer participate in the Canadian moguls skiing program because it clashed with their business interests."
<I><B>"I know this sounds corny, and I might be a little bit drunk, but honest to god, thank you everybody"</B></I>
they (the brother and him who both compete) own a (possibly) multi-million dollar internet based business and left canada for australia because the canadian officials wouldnt make a schedule that fit their business needs so they left
Hooray! Canada's curling team went into first because of Brad. <3

"Canada files short-track protest
Last Updated: Thu Feb 16 10:48:12 EST 2006
CBC Sports
Canadian short-track officials have filed an official complaint with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) concerning the finish of Wednesday's 500-metre women's final.
The Canadians contend that silver medallist Evgenia Radanova of Bulgaria crossed the finish line with one skate in the air, which isn't allowed.
In short-track competition, skaters must cross the finish line with both skates on the ice.
The CAS has not said whether it will review the Canadian protest further.
The decision could affect more than Canadian bronze medallist Anouk Leblanc-Boucher.
Canada's Kalyna Roberge won the B final and was awarded fourth place overall in the competition since China's Fu Tianyu was disqualified in the A final.
If Radanova loses her medal, not only would Leblanc-Boucher be elevated to a silver medal, but Roberge would be awarded the bronze. "

If I was listening properly we just won our first silver medal in the whole winter olympics since 1936 :O

hehehe this isn't the answer, but I just found this:
"1936 Winter Olympics .... An upset occurred in the ice hockey tournament, where Canada was defeated for the first time, and lost the gold medal to Great Britain. However, most of the British players were born in, or lived in, Canada."
