I remember having AOL when I was 13, and we were one of the first families in the neighborhood. So that would have been 1997.

*waves* wow.. I feel like such a young'n.. yea, I wasn't born yet

Back to the porn thing.. well.. if I'm taking a look at the 14-15 year olds (freshmen) in our high school.. that would be the STUPIDEST thing ever.. it wouldn't be a good idea until 16-17 year olds (juniors) in the honors/ap courses (in other words, the hard classes that only the really intelligent, hard working, matrue students take).. if I take a look at other students in our school in general, they'd never be able to take a topic like that seriously and would just use it as an excuse to view porn constantly on their computers (not that they don't already do.. look at the previous facts).. it's a good idea, and COULD work if it would be used on the right group of students.. but not the way this teacher went with it

It's been ten years this year since my family got the internet.

I remember doing a project on dinosaurs in grade 2 and using the internet and being so amazed!

I can't believe Nikki had the internet that early. There must have been like 100 web sites in the world.

 Web sites as we know them didn't exist yet, actually. It was all text based and mainly bulletin boards, I believe.

We used it mostly to get the weather.

Damn - in 1989 I don't even think we had a computer yet!

We got an Apple IIGS in 1990 and had that till 1995, when we finally got a PC. Yeah, my family was technology-sad for a long time.

My dad has always been in computers..so we had one all my growing up. The thing is I don't really remember us, or even him, ever using it much until the internet came along.

Our first computer was a Commodore 64

"According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the Commodore 64 still remains the best selling computer model of all time."

We used it for typing school projects and playing Frogger and Styx... we didn't have internet access until the early 90's

We had computers (plural) since well before I was born due to my father being a total nerd and like, building his own in the 70's. However he wouldn't shell out for the internet until I was probably in about grade 6 or so... seeing as an internet connection wasn't something he could create with his own two hands but instead had to (gasp) pay money for

 That is the best way to be.

I do remember doing paint shop. That was fun, and my dad trying to teach me to type, but I sucked. Funny thing is, I type twice as fast as him now!

Oh man I made so many of those things. I forget what the name of that program was for the Apple IIGS, but it was damn cool. I think it was something like Print Shop.
