Death Cab!!!!
Also, they're much more emo than indie, but everyone should go check out The Academy Is... They're a new band and they're absolutely fantastic. I'm also in love with Mae right now.

I'll be the speaker for Josh at the moment.
They're both awesome.
Some starters:
TV on the Radio - Staring at the Sun, Blind, King Eternal
The Most Serene Republic - Content Was Always My Favourite Colour, Where Cedar Nouns and Adverbs Walk

Goddamnit Jess!
She's right though.
TV On The Radio make heavily soul and electronic inflected psych rock. It sounds like a mess, described like that, but the songs are
superbly crafted and endlessly gorgeous, without exception. Frontman Tunde Adebimpe has, I'm not kidding, the most phenomenal voice I've ever heard.
The Most Serene Republic are what the Postal Service might sound like if they were forced to do ecstacy. Then acid. HUGE synthesizer swath every song, while a girl/boy vocalist duo sing happy nonsensical things in the laid back near-falsetto Ben Gibbard's made so popular. Frenetic and bubbly indie pop.

Silly Josh and his ability to describe bands in more ways than
good.

Halifax is indeed kickass. I've been hooked lately on their cover of "Straight Up" from Punk Goes '80s...
