Teeth Thread! :E

i hate my teeth. one of my teeth is chipped because when i was 15 i was playing jump rope with a rope with wooden handles and my sisters let go of the the one end and it hit me right in my mouth and chipped my tooth. then a few years later i had an evil root canal cause of all my cavaties. the evil dentist also gave me silver capping on my teeth. one recently fell off so i am missing a tooth right now. i need to go back to the dentist soo bad and get sooo much work done but i am too poor and the dentist scares me.

It's amazing what we talk about on the CM. I bet other messageboards would come here and be like :wtf:

... but that's just cos they'd be jealous of how cool we are. 8-)

Aaaaaaaanyway.

I had braces from 4th grade through half of 7th, I think. Let me tell you, the braces and my mouth did NOT get along. They fell off at least once a month... my dentist concluded that I must have acidy spit (yes, that's right... Dane Cook, be jealous), because it was eating the glue that was holding them on. The wires were CONSTANTLY jabbing my gums and hurting me like nobody's business. The back braces around my molars shredded up my gums and the inside of my cheeks so bad you wouldn't believe it. The pain was unbearable.

After that, I had a retainer to keep my teeth straight from the braces... I wore it at night for probably about a year, then couldn't deal with the pain anymore... so now my teeth are back to how they were before the braces. Yay huge waste of money, time, pain, etc.

I've had one very small cavity my entire life, and I'm pretty sure my dentist was making it up because I never felt any pain from it, nor did I see anything wrong with the tooth.

My wisdom teeth have been coming in for probably 2 or 3 years now, and are only half uncovered... I've got plenty of room for them, but it's SUPER annoying because food's constantly being caught between my gum and the teeth, and I'm worried it'll cause cavities. Years ago, my dentist said he wanted to remove them, but like I think somebody else said, the whole process is unnecessary a lot of the time, and I'm pretty sure I'm one of those times considering I've got more than enough room for them to come in.

I haven't been to the dentist in over 5 years because it's too expensive. I'm dying to go back and get a good teeth cleaning. Even when I was little, I loved going to the dentist. I'm a freak. :nikki:

I really hope I take after my poppop in the tooth department... he's 83 and has all of his own teeth minus one. He once asked his dentist how many of his patients his age have all their own teeth still... the dentist answered "you're my only patient your age". :lol:

I had two of those! The dentist said that they weren't the usualy kind of cavity and that they weren't my fault at all. I'm still puzzling over that one.

i have pretty straight teeth, and i've never had braces.
when i was little i didn't brush my teeth very often, but surprisingly enough, i haven't had a single cavity. now i brush and floss, but mouthwash is too strong :no:

i think my teeth are okay, except for them being really yellow. also, my two front teeth aren't bigger than the rest of my teeth.
my wisdom teeth started coming in a little while ago. it was painful for the first week or two, but now it only hurts if i forget about it and lean my face on my hand, or something.

maybe you had really deep molars, so it was hard brushing there...or something.
