I can see OLP being huge fans.
*Rowan flipping through channels while Raine reads Readers Digest"*
"Daddy, these people are weird!, and their intro song is Superman's Dead!"
"Wow, I heard of these guys but I didn't know they really existed"
*two weeks later*
"Chantal, get the popcorn, The CM is on!"

Man I'd kill to be on that show. I personally feel with me that house would be kickass. Hell we should all just buy a huge house and live in it anyway, tv or not.

i wonder about the legality of ripping off a show like big brother or survivor which, in reality are both ripoffs themselves...
so in that respect,
if the american chans sue us.. can we counter-sue them on behalf of the european folks who created the shows in the first place that they themselves ripped off?
(which would pay for the show of course)

That'd be a strange... fan... loop... cos we're fans of them and they'd be fans of us and we'd still be fans fo them and... oh no. I've gone cross-eyed.

Yeah. They'd probably be weirded out. Which would make it more fun.

Particularly if we speculated on the show like we sometimes do on here. Does anyone else remember when some people insisted Rowan was conceived on Juno night?

Actually the creator of shows like Big Brother (John de Mol) gets A LOT of money for each different Big Brother that starts up. The more countries that want to do that show, the more money he gets. He doesn't even have to have producer credits for any of the foreign versions either. As long as he holds the copywrite for the original. The reason each different country has "ripped off" the idea from another countries show, isn't so much a rip off.
The reason is because they kept the same name. They actually had no choice. If they wanted to do a show that's extremely similar to the original and use a different name, they'd be sued, not to mention as long as they don't have retards at the network the producers are pitching the idea too, the network would be aware that it could mean copywrite infringement and wouldn't buy the show anyway. That's why each different country that has a show called Big Brother uses that name specifically. It's because the original producer gets a lot of money so that other countries can use his show theme/content/name.

Also one good example of this is a short lived reality series called "Boot-Camp"
Anyone who might remember this show, might also remember they were sued by Survivor because of how much content was basically stolen from Survivor.
I found an article about it too.

Actually, I don't think OLP would be too weirded out. In reality, we don't have alot to do with OLP anymore. Sure, we have a name from their music and we started out that way. Sure, we still do talk about them. But they're small business around here the majority of the time.
