So much for the NHL looking towards the CM haha.

I don't think that's where it started. Look at European football (soccer), and how they buy players instead of trade and yet their best players only make 5 million a year. I think what started it was the implementation of unrestricted free agency, and the bidding wars that occured directly after that, inflating payrolls.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

Just to inform anyone who cares..

The two sides have been talking now for almost 8 hours, and it is believed that talks will continue for most of the night,

One way or another, this is over tonight.
Some of you probably think I left. But was I ever here to start?

anyways

UFA is necessary
its a part of the game and i have no problem with it
UFA can be good for the game in fact
but the whole "not having a level playing field" thing is where i have a problem
go fuck yourself.

Columbus is about as far South as Colorado... so you needed to add Colorado into that list or like take Columbus off... even though Columbus is a retarded team with no fans... it's still justifiably as acceptable as The Avalanche!

The two sides will meet again tomorrow. Thursday's meeting was finished at 11 PM.... that's 20 hours of negotiations. That, as well as the fact that there will be futher meetings, cannot be taken as anything but positive.

would a winning team make a difference you think?
i honestly don't think that even if Nashville have a successful team, tehy won't have fan support comparable to toronto, detroit or even minnesota to an extent.

the wild have one of the best fan bases in the league heh

they sell out the xcel centre a lot
i think all the time if my memory serves me correctly
whats really sad is new jersey, where they have a really good team with legitimate players and such and yet still dont sell out
go fuck yourself.

Yeah but that's the same as comparing any hockey state or province to a non-hockey state or province...

Well, except for maybe the huge fan support in Manitoba! Go Jets!

given nj's location and what not it should be a hockey state
but
having said that
given the proximity to the islanders, rangers, pens and finally the flyers its sorta not entirely surprising that the team doesnt do better given the # of teams
go fuck yourself.
