if it was a one time deal I'm sure it would be awkward... if you guys were "buddies" who did this on occasion it would become normal.

Here's what you do: Next time you're all snuggly with him, reach under and run your fingers up his leg, and give him a wink and one of those flirtatious little name things with a smile "like hey tiger" for example. Then 1 of two things will happen. 1. He will recoil in horror because he is gay. or 2. He might be intrigued and play along then as that continuos kiss him. Then judge his reaction. If he feels weird, apoligise and say it was a momentary thing you just got a little out of it for a moment. If he kisses you back then you get what you wanted.
