They'll never be as awesome as the special OLP stickers we gave Joel in Vancouver.

 Holy god, I forgot about those! I wonder what they did with them. Probably burned them and tried to erase the memory.

It starts off mellow, but rocks out as the song goes on. Raine introduced it by saying "I think we've finally mastered this whole 'slow build' thing". He also said something about true love always ending badly, which I assume is the inspiration for the song.

Seems like it could be same line up tomorrow. How long was that? 40 minutes?

P.S.

Any news on the CD?

Yeah, it was 40 minutes exactly.

As far as the CD goes, he said that they finished it five days ago, and that they're "stoked out of their fucking minds about it". I THINK I also heard him say something about May during the Starseed intro, but he was really muffled, so it was hard to tell. Not sure if he was talking about the album or the single or if he even said May at all, but that's what I thought I heard. Hopefully someone else here heard it better.

SWEET! Can't wait to hear it! I think I may even avoid temptation and not listen to any live version at all until I hear the studio version on the CD (given that it makes it onto the CD).

So in the meantime... which other new song would you most liken "All You Did Was Save My Life" to? Or for that matter any past OLP song? If there are any?? Is it more identifiable with classic-OLPish era or Gravity-era? :)

I've unfortunately (or fortunately!) had "Monkey Brains" stuck in my head all night, so I can't really picture the song at all, other than the fact that it started soft but built up. If you asked me to sing the chorus right now, I'd have no clue. I just remember really liking it. Sorry to be of so little help. Damn catchy "Monkey Brains", pushing all other songs out my head!

At the time though, the only song that came to mind as a comparison was "Love and Trust" for some reason, but I think it's a lot more rocking than that. Not sure why I made that connection. I'll have to listen to it a few more times to see if that has any merit.

Haha, yeah, I was the first one to post on here about the song "Dreamland" (which was the day I joined, June 29)... and I had barely any recollection of the song either! It's funny how the excitement of the moment and the atmosphere kinda makes you forget specifics like that. I could barely remember the name of the song I had to write it on my arm!

And yeah, "Monkey Brains" is an awesome song! Do you remember if it sounded pretty much the same as the New Year's Eve live version? Or did they change it up a bit since?

Haha. Yeah, same here. After the show, I was trying to remember the song's name, and I kept thinking "Someone Saved My Life Tonight", which is most definitely an Elton John song. It took me half a subway ride up Yonge to finally remember the exact title.

well i talked to steve after the show and he said that "all you did was save my life" is the first single and "dreamland" is the second single...also "white flags" will be on the album...that is pretty much all i got out of him...he didnt stick around long, he went out to watch the last band
Is there something good, something more?
Is there anything worth dying for?
