i enjoy phonetics.

if you ever want a good drinking game, get a bunch of linguistics geeks down to a bar with some flashcards with the ipa on them - hold them up one at a time, and when someone makes the wrong sound, everyone takes a shot. also, everyone else in the place thinks you're nuts!

My Saturday night was filled with awsomeness as well.

Went to a local bar to see some bands play.
Sat for 2 hours watching a boring football game only to find out the opening badn was a no show the 2nd bands drummer was missing and the lead singer for the opener was MIA as well.

Columbus rocks!!

hah. that's complicated for us. we just went to our local university bar one day and skipped our semantics class, and proceeded to drink for two hours before our phonetics class. we also had an assignment due that day...the transcription of twenty words of our choosing. for some reason, we thought it would be fun to do one as a drunken group. a few memorable words were 'hooky poo' 'rusty trombone' and other stuff along the same lines. we went to class, handed it in...and it's still the stuff of legends today. our prof actually said it was very well done.

Dear Saman & Sarah:
I went to staples sunday. You were not there!
I had to buy a graphing calculator from someone I didn't know over the internet. How weird is that?
