Rusty: The songs I seek I have found, before August 30th... and I will continue not to share like everybody else so I can regain some of the trust I USED to have on this board. Oh, and I'll still go out and buy 2 copies on Aug 30th as I do with every OLP album... then buy more when I wear out those copies because I absolutely refuse to listen to burnt OLP music when studio copies are available.

Thanks

It's not that it's controversial. It's that a lot of people (fans and critics alike) thought it sucked. It's inevitable that people are going to retread those feelings while talking about the new album. As someone already said, a lot of older fans felt alienated by it. I remember reading reviews for it a couple of years ago over at Amazon, and a lot of people who were bashing the album were still saying how they weren't giving up hope that the band would rebound from it. And now, people are going to have the payoff whether they like the album or not. But the one question on all those people's mind (and mine, despite becoming a fan of the band AFTER Gravity came out) is: Will it be better than the last album? I don't think it'll be talked about as much once HIPT settles into people's heads though. We'll either have the people who hate it and will move on (hopefully), or those that don't and think of Gravity as a bump in the road.

gravity was just a poor cd, wasnt very olpish, wasnt very unique, was extremelly poppy, No Falsettos, just a very bland imo. HIPT has given me the olp feel back that I lost with gravity, this cd is so far superior to most of their work, including their first stuff in some aspects, Its their most depth cd by far.

Wow, Im really surprised at the amount of people who have heard the leaked album already.

Personally, I think this is their best album yet, every single song on this album is so unique, and different.

I really like apology, and think it is defiinitly one of OLP's best songs, it flows so well, and is extremey catchy, I would say it is prob. one of my favorites on the album.

AS for the next single, itll be either angels loosing sleep, or will the future blame us, or both, they are definitly great songs and single material.

One of their best songs too.

I  it on Unplugged.
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

^ How helpful of you.

I've decided why some people think Boy sounds like U2. The guitar is very Egde style, and the lyrical flow is alot like Bono's. That's the only reason I can think of. Other than the name similarity...

^ it sounds like the intros to with or without you and where the streets have no name from joshua tree....and the style and flow of the lyrics are very similar to bono....and i think that the unknowing listener would hear it and say, is that U2?
Is there something good, something more?
Is there anything worth dying for?

HIPT is apparantly Much's album that's gonna be "it" or something like that.

i've been constantly excited for so long, the excitement has become this throbbing kind of semiconsciousness that rises to the surface only after reading stuff like the above and anticipating some big olp days again.

That person would have to be crazy! There is no way in a million years you can mix up Bono's voice and Raine's.

I think the best part of listening to a new CD is hearing the music, you know? Occasionally I buy CD's and I don't listen to the music, and I find that I listen to those the least.
