ARGH
So I went swimming yesterday, and I was wearing a purple skirt. I didn't bring it in the water, but it did get wet. However, said purple skirt has a defense mechanism, apparently activated when it comes into contact with water. That defense mechanism is to turn everything it touches purple.
...I didn't know that when I put the skirt back on.
My underwear, my waist, my legs, and my friend's towel all turned purple.
I managed to wash it all off, but I think the underwear and towel are ruined. It's just a good thing my shirt was black.
Ironically, I can't get purple dye to stay in my hair for much more than a week. Maybe I should just wrap the stupid skirt around my head.

defense mechanism!
to help you on the hair dye situation...assuming you have very dark hair, i've found one purple dye (that's really a highlighting kit, and more magenta than purple) that works almost TOO well. Loreal Colour Rays ...
you can find it at Wal-Mart, Shoppers, anywhere...but be warned, if you don't leave it in long enough, it looks red or pink and kind of stupid and halfhearted. like your hair's saying, "i'm not really purple, but maybe this wishy washy tone will pass and i'll still fit in and make friends and everyone will think i'm cool."

I have stuff that does that. A lot of my white shirts are now off-grey because I don't bother separating my whites from my colors

I mean, BRIGHT purple though.
If I had put it in the wash with a white shirt, it would be nowhere close to white anymore.
Jen, part of my hair is bleached and the rest is dark. The stuff I use now I used to use alllll the time in junior high. It generally shows up fine, and it used to stay in for about a month. For some reason I can't get it to stay in properly anymore though, even though now I'm using color protection shampoo.
I've got way to much of it now to go off and buy something else, so for now I'll just try leaving it in for longer.

okay, well, i just posted this on my lj, but i'll post it here too, as i doubt it'll generate enough excitement to warrant a new thread.
just a minor announcement. well, it'll be minor to most of you anyway. on august 9th, my two brothers and i will be arriving at edmonton to attend a wedding. on the 11th, we will be travelling to calgary with the groom's family. we will return to edmonton on the 12th for the reception. then either on the 13th or the 14th, we will be going to saskatoon for a visit (and for another wedding), where we will be staying until the 22nd. i would be delighted if anyone wants to get in touch with me or meet up at all while i'm at these places, especially edmonton or saskatoon, since i probably won't have enough time to meet anyone at calgary. to get in touch with me, leave me a comment on here or email me at

I love that!! But I think it's only on the newer or remodeled planes so it depends on the plane you get for your flight.

It's so nice to just have the security of having a job. Even if it's a crappy one.

...Excuse me for actually loving my job?
I've been in a shitty retail job for seven years. This is a nice change of pace for me and I enjoy it.
