I thought it was good but it dragged a bit in places. Its like it should have been a short story or novella but was never edited down or something.

I'm reading State of Fear again (Michael Crichton). I thought it was a really good book.

Just reread Lolita again for the third or fourth time, and yet still discovered new things on every page. The absolute most perfect book ever. Pure beauty.

You can have it, I'm quitting.

Working as a cashier there blows. It's SO boring, and we're not allowed to read. So I never get to look at books, except for the 2 seconds in which I ring them through.

But there is wandering time during breaks. Which is how my money goes away so quickly.

First Rider's Call by Kristen Britain (This is also a great book. I loved the first one, and the third one is due out this year WHEE)

The Dragon Revenant by Katharine Kerr (she is my favorite author - tied with Dan Simmons - and this is like my fourth or fifth re-read of this book. Her new one is due out next month!)

I am also reading Litany of the Long Sun by Gene Wolfe, and so many other books I can't even be arsed to name them all.

...I'm a bookworm.

I got about halfway through that before I decided I didn't like it and didn't finish it.
I've been pondering a finishing lately though.

I've never stopped reading a book, even if I didn't like it. I don't know what it is, I just feel the need to finish the whole thing :freak:

I tortured myself by finishing off The 5th Horseman by James Patterson this year - a couple days before it came out I decided I wanted to see what all of the hype was about, so I sat behind the counter at work for a day and read it.

I couldn't stop laughing. It was absolutely terrible. One of the most poorly-written books I've ever read in my life. It amazes me that such garbage has made the man a millionaire. He writes absolute drivel, and half of it is plagiarized anyway!

But I finished it, just because I had to after getting so far. Even when it became so utterly ridiculous I just kept plodding on. And laughing my ass off of course.

a uk cosmo.

oh, and dragon tears by stephen king. definitely not enjoying it...i like horror king, not fantasy dragon/prince/magician king. aside from the dark tower. and this book ties into the dark tower series, which i want to read again, after rereading all his other books. so..uh..yes. long explanation of why i'm reading this book that doesn't terribly interest me.

Ooh Joseph Heller is awesome. I've only read Catch-22 though. But that is a damn good book.
