So, in other words, go for the anniversary/"promise" ring.

 yeah....I don't wanna feel her wrath. I've been sorta looking for like the past month, and its funny cuz like the past week she's brought up wanting some sorta ring on her finger, again. See, I bought her a ring a long ass time ago......but it got cut off her finger by paramedics following a car accident.

Our anniversary is on May 5th....so, i gotta settle on one, and soon.

Just get something she would find beutiful or has some sentiment behind it. Like take one of her girlfriends shopping with you or something.

Right.....she's always been amazing about the whole sentimental value thing. She said that when we get married I had best not spend more than a grand on her wedding ring.......all my guy friends say they wanna trade their wives/gf's for her since she's so cheap. haha!

I'm not into spending life savings on rings either... hubby always says he lucked out  All my girlfriends want rings so large they cut off the circulation in the finger.

I did get a promise ring, it was really nice, small but cute, and it was a surprise. It meant a lot to me since he picked it out and stressed over it.

That's how I'm feelin'! I'm stressin'........see, cuz she's glanced and said "oh wow, I like that" to like......three different styles. Arrgh!

She's even said she wouldn't mind a ring that hold both our birthstones......is that tacky?
I saw one for around a "benjamin" that would hold each of our birthstones, i believe a small diamond in the center, and i can also have our names engraved next to each of the birthstones.

Is that weird/tacky/dumb/mental? haha

If I were to have someone buying a ring for me, I'd want one that was extremely unique and had alot of thought put into it. The ultimate would be to find someone who made jewlery themselves and have them make one that he put some creative input into it, but sans any jewels or expensive metals.

I hate girls that want the huge rings. I agree with Yannic. I'd rather have something tacky that he picked out on his own than something huge and not-a-surprise.

In 4 years I've never once bought my gf an anniversary present, and she's never bought me one either. She's even said to me that she doesn't want a ring unless it's an engagement ring cause all a promise ring is a promise to make a promise that you'll marry her.

I don't have a problem with buying a ring as a present if you wanna do it, but I've never been a fan of promise rings.

My promise ring was because we were making a commitment moving in together, and agreed that we didn't want to get engaged and/or married until I was done university.
