Vancouver's loss is Susie's gain! (probably)

You've had him for long enough and now it's time to share.

yep! read back on his blog a bit. he's left vancouver, and he's going on a nomadic journey to many places around the globe.

he also clarified though that he is NOT quitting music. :D

Matt sounds so unhealthy... :uhh:

Last Thursday night, two of the medications that I’ve been taking, one old and one new, conflicted. Because of it I was rendered unconscious and rushed to hospital where I stayed until last night. Thus, no updates.

his little pieces of artwork are extremely revealing, but I just hope it's cathartic for him to get his thoughts and feelings out there.

in happier news:

"Rather than finishing lyrics to the final two songs for the new record (yes, I am going in to record soon), I decided to..."

!!!!!!!!!!

I'm actually impressed with the art he's put on his site. Some of them could make a really good collection.
There are one or two that could be improved because they are just primarily writings but I still like the combination he's got going on. Its really good thematically. I guess that comes from being a writer.

my favourite MBlog post in quite a while ... glad to see him in good spirits:

"For some bizarre reason I have the A-Team theme stuck in my head. I am up to 16 songs, not including the A-Team theme. At this rate I’m going to go with the double album prediction. There is, of course, a chance that the label will refuse to release a double album because of expense. If that turns out to be the case, I’ll just release half of it in stores and half of it on the website.

I have this uncontrollable desire to do something along the lines of Echoes, though, as you’re all aware, I’m usually just all talk when it comes to such assertions. When I set out to write Avalanche (the song) I had a similar objective, to create something that could, in a more glorious day and age, fill the entire side of an LP. Echoes is 23 minutes and 30 seconds in length, my latest attempt for this new record somehow ended at roughly six minutes.

Xylophone. Maybe there needs to be more xylophone."

the xylophone actually sounds very appealing.

 i can't stand double albums

Posted: 11/11/2006, 6:14 pm
by Axtech
...why? as long as the material is good, why not have more of it?

just takes away from the album experience for me.
There's something right about letting your music say as much as you can within 45 minutes or so.

Plus i like letting albums play through, and it's hard to stay attentive for two hours without losing interest.

I guess mt Get Out the Vote Campaign didn't work.....

Good Concedes

With the votes counted, State Representative Matthew Good is officially giving up his fight to serve Pennsylvania`s 3rd district.
Good formally conceded the election to his challenger Democrat John Hornaman.
Hornaman beat Good by a mere 159 votes.
Good thanked his supporters and staff saying he is proud of the work he`s been able to do.
While Good says this election has been tough physically and emotionally, he`s not ruling out another job in public service.

I don't really like double albums either. I find it takes away from the album itself in the long run. I love having more songs and that sort of thing, but albums are supposed to be a cohesive collection and I find having two cd's worth of songs, takes away from the purpose behind the album. I also find it washes out some of the music and makes songs that would be fantastic on their own blend in to much and end up ignored.

then just think of it as two similar sounding albums :P

Yeah which is far less good then two different sounding albums. Or one fantastic album.
