I hate my period :( it hurts. a lot. if there was some healthy way to make it stop that didn't involve surgery and giving up my chance to have kids sometime in my future I would so do it.

You... you're kidding, right?

I mean, I know that not everybody's is bad, but... you really weren't aware that it was absolutely excruciating for some girls?

well, yeah, i know it hurts a lot for some girls, but i didn't think it was all that common.

Wait... that's not funny.

hmmm. i think we're thinking of different things when we say "a lot of pain". when i think of it, i think of excruciating, debilitating pain, but i've never met anyone with whom their period actually interferes with their regular activities.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about, too.

I've had some so bad that I haven't been able to move off the couch for hours, and if I do get up, I feel like I'm going to throw up or pass out as soon as I do. Blech.

And the creator of this thread = genius!

^ that's me too... a couple days a month I am in severe pain. Sometimes I have spasms that hurt so bad I hold my breath and close my eyes and pull my knees to my chest. I take a combination of anti-inflammatory and painkillers and usually can keep it under control, but not always. :(

A woman in my office works from home one week a month because she can't deal with it in the office :( She also apparently gets so moody she is violent (which is the reason for her divorce) so it's better for her to stay at home.

I use to lose about 5 days of my month cos of my period. it was just way to much pain for me to handle. Headaches, nausea, back pain, cramps. I barely moved off the couch for days. The painkillers my doctor gave me made me really sick so I couldn't take those and regular painkillers just weren't effective, it would take like 4 hours for them to kick in and I often had to exceed they daily reccomended dosage cos if I stopped taking them all the pain would come back. He ended up putting me on birth control cos it regulates the horomones in my body which lowered the level of the chemical that was causing the pain. It still hurts, but at least now all it takes is a couple of extra strength advil and I can still go to school and stuff :D

When I was in school, I used to hate all my periods...

1st period, 2nd period, etc. I was really happy when 6th period was over and I could go home.

Wait, are we talking about the same thing here?
