Just got home! amazing amazing amazing show.
I'll give a better write-up some other time when it's not 5:30 in the morning and I haven't spent 8 hours on the road.
But here's a breakdown
- Krista's boyfriend Emory was driving us. We got about an hour away from Kingston when his car (which he just bought from a friend on Friday) broke down. We were lucky enough to get off the highway and pull into the driveway of someone who happened to be a mechanic. He told us the engine was absolutely fucked. We thought we were going to end up missing out on yet another show, but a group of Krsita's friends were on their way to the show, and they were just passing the place where we pulled off when we called them, so they took us the rest of the way (unfortunately Emory had to stay with his car, have it towed, etc).
- We got there and met Raymi before we went inside. She's actually really nice. Later she found us inside to chat for a bit before the show
- We ended up being FRONT ROW CENTER
- Melissa was great, and an absolute cutie. She kept looking down and smiling at Krista and I. After her first song she looked down at us and (into the mic) asked "Can you guys see up my skirt?! I just realized that!!" (we couldn't, and we laughed and told her that). And when she saw Krista had a camera she did a little pose for her. At one point during the show she was off to the side of the stage and we saw her and we waved and she smiled and waved back. Later she was at the merch table and we met her. She recognized us and said that it was nice to have some smiling faces in the front row (I guess she's used to mostly vapid stares being the opening act).
- Matt was simply amazing. Very very very funny. A great setlist, amazing vocals, very passionate and into it.

It's Been A While Since I Was Your Man
- At one point during the show I had a mid-concert conversation with Matt about the Kingston show. Krista kept trying to shout that we had come from Kingston, so when he had asked if anyone was there from BC and when no one answered, I shouted that we were from Kingston. "Kingston's not in BC .... oh! right. Who said they're from Kingston?" (and I waved my hand --- right under his nose) "Yeah, sorry to anyone from the Kingston show. I was pretty sick, exhaustion, and I passed out - that wasn't fun." and I said something like "Are you feeling better now?" and he said "Yeah yeah yeah, I'm much better now" (or something like that ... I was kind of stunned at the time so I don't remember exactly what he said ... hopefully it was bootlegged).
- At the end of the show, Krista managed to grab the setlist off the stage. Matt came out to sign stuff later, so she got it signed. Then she gave it to me!

I kept asking her if she was sure, but she said she'd just lose it or something. I'm going to get it framed some time this week
- We met Matt and I talked to him for a short short short bit. Raymi (who was organizing the fans outside the bus) said that he'd meet us and sign stuff "but no pictures because he's ... Matt Good"

While on the bus Matt said that he wasn't doing the picture thing because he wasn't feeling too great. I liked Raymi's reason better.

He signed another postcard for me and I shook his hand.
- Raymi told us to stick around afterwards and later invited us to go to a strip club with her and a few other people (not Matt, though). As fun as that would have been, the people we were with were tired (and not as into Raymi as Krista and I ... mostly Krista), so we opted out (although Raymi kind of ended up wandering off in a different direction with Melissa and some other girl).
I'll have more to say later
