December 6th is the anniversary of the Montreal Massacre and the National Day of Action on Violence against Women. It is a day to mourn and to work for change. This December 5th and 6th Women's Issues Awareness is holding a White Ribbon Campaign to raise as much money as possible for the December 6th Fund, an organization which lends money to women in abusive situations so that they and, in many cases, their children can start new lives. This coming Monday and Tuesday, we hope you will wear a white ribbon to symbolize your opposition to violence against women. Ribbons will be available in first period classes and in the main office. By making a small donation in exchange for the ribbon, you will be helping women and their families. You can give as much or as little as you like, but if everyone contributes just $1, we will be able to raise about $700, which would be absolutely amazing.
