Thats probably not a good thing.

so 3 and a bit weeks ago they told 29 people at my work that they would probably get made redundant this friday. Today they told them all that becuase we might be getting bought, the whole redundancy thing is cancelled. One of my friends is going on holiday tomorrow, he had less than 2 hours left to work and had already had leaving drinks. Tomorrow's going to be very interesting. :S

I wouldn't do homework if the teachers were on strike. It's not the student's responsibility to educate themselves.

School pics came today, I look like a stoned 12 year old. Pics to come when I figure out a way to do that. Also, a couple of my friends started a gay-straight alliance at my school, to help raise acceptance and such. Also as a support place for the gay and straight alike to join and talk. Sadly, the posters that were put up were not only torn down but ripped to pieces. This is why the room is only given out in guidance to prevent unwanted people.

...wow...
we have a gay straight alliance at my school, it's very well respected by everyone. i can't ever ever imagine that happening, it must have been terrible. we have random rooms all over the school marked out with those rainbow gay straight alliance stickers; any room with a sticker is a room that a person can enter and talk with people freely, about whatever. one of our teachers is gay too. maybe i've never been exposed to any real homophobia at my school...but anyway, that kind of thing is still pretty depressing to hear about.

That's so sad! It's weird to picture that happening, as my college is what has been proclaimed the "gay Ivy". We have such a large non-hetero population that we have a little saying: "one in four, maybe more," though my friend says that to be more accurate it should probably be "one in two, maybe you." I love being at a place that's so accepting of everyone - I think they deserve all the rights and acceptance and everything that straight people have. I can't imagine being in a place of such intolerance

Yeah it kinda sucks. As my friend was saying today, (while she was wearing one of the signs on her shirt, she's pretty damn awesome) "It pisses me off that someone would do that. Especially because when they did it, they were trying to attack the gay community at our school, but it was *** who made all the posters. She devoted her time and money into making them and she's straight. She's never hurt anyone or done anything to anyone, she's just an awesome person. So they only hurt her." It's really sad. The ignorance of some people just astounds me. My friend (the one who made the posters) actually spent her lunch period making new posters to put up. The two people that put this together have put so much effort into it too, but minus the assholes who are tearing stuff down, it seems to be effective. A few people were down in guidance asking how to join.
