*looks down* Nope, that's a chair under me.
OK, so, one advantage to being awake at night instead of the day is... I turn on MTV and VH1, and they're BOTH showing music videos. Every night.
But, now MTV has hit a new level of "crazy censorship". I thought putting flowers on the Maroon 5 video for "This Love" to cover up the semi-nudity was bad. But, oh no, it's gotten worse. Weezer's "We Are All On Drugs" is now... "We Are All In Love". No, I am not joking. I didn't notice the tag in the corner at the beginning of the video, and I was watching and suddenly I hear "iiiiiin love" and I thought I had lost my mind and was hearing things. So I sit and watch a little longer... and yeah, that's what they're singing. I change the channel in rage, then flip it right back to once again make sure I wasn't hearing things. I wait til the end of the video. Sure enough, it says "We Are All In Love" in the corner. I can't freaking believe it. I don't know if I'm more disappointed in MTV (who I expect this crap from) or in Weezer for actually going in and re-recording parts of the song.
Horrible.
It was funny, though, they didn't re-record the video at all, so the mouths are clearly singing "on drugs".

I never realized how much American television and radio is censored before. Its like, Weezers song 'Hash Pipe' was changed to 'Half Pipe' and now this song can't say the word 'Drugs'.
I saw an interview on much music with Weezer and they said that when hash pipe was released there was a big stink made over it in the states, and here in Canada it wasn't changed and no one really cared. I didn't realize that 'We are all on Drugs' was censored in the states too.
I was also listening to the radio the other day and they were playing like the American top 40 countdown or something like that and "Don't phunk with my heart' came on. And they changed the word 'phunk' with 'mess'. I mean, the word they censored out was already censored. It seems pretty ridiculous.
Its like when it comes to radio and television censorship they don't give the viewers/listeners credit.

All that censorship is crazy. I don't have MTV but radio stations quite happily play Hash Pipe and We Are All On Drugs with no editing at all.

I just discovered periodicals. Like, I don't mean as a research tool, I still don't get that, but just to read interesting things, my goodness! Did you know there's a periodical called the Journal of Adolescence? I'll understand me yet!
There are studies on the most random things ever. Seriously, who thinks of all the aspects of the study to decide what will controled? "Self-image and parental attachment among late adolescents in Belize", "Imaginary companions in adolescence: sign of a deficient or positive development?" Cool? Yes. Weird? Definately!
I need to hang out in libraries more often so I don't shit my pants everytime I find things like this...

hmmmm well shitting your pants is ussually something to be avoided, but who knows maybe we'll learn in periodicals that it's healthy development

also,
BOOKS can be discovered in libraries!
Man, there's so much knowledge! I just remembered why college is so much more interesting than high school. Seriously, I couldn't remember.
Ok, I don't have my library card with me. Damnit, at least at high school it was unbelievably easy to steal books. Bastards with their book-non-stealing device thingie at the door.
I'm like a kid in a candy shop. I keep finding things in the library and then running back to the computer to tell you how DAMN COOL it is.
*loser*

Theres NO censorship in Canada, seriously. Once it hits 10 PM here, theres XXX on like 7 different channels. Just cable, not digital or special order
