I've been dating the same guy for a couple of years now and everyone's starting to assume we're going to get married. It freaks me out hardcore. His sister tells her children to "wave goodbye to your future aunt." I don't think either of us are looking that long term right now, but it seems like both our parents are! It's so damn frustrating.
Should I just ignore it?
Talk amongst yourselves.

I think that you should, I mean it's not like you can go up to his sister and go like "shut up!"
A discussion with your partner may freak him out, talking about marriage and such, but then again you've been going out for a couple of years and you probably know him better than i do (but probably not).
Just because they say it, doesn't mean that you're obligated to follow through on it, just smile and wabe back to the kids as you get in your car and speed off.

That's exactly why I haven't brought it up to him. Plus, I think he'd say something mean to his sister. Thanks for the advice. Woohooo this thread is useful.

How true.
I was gonna say to just ignore it, too. Who cares what other people think, as long as you two are happy.

Umm here's a questions was this stupid of me? I was chrismtas shopping with my friends this afternoon, and we walked into a store and my friend said "hey this would be nice for jenn" and jenn is the girl I like. It was a little silver coloured music note charm for like a necklace or whatever. She really likes music, so I got it for her. My friend said she would give it to her because she sees her at lunch. Anyway, jenn already suspects that I like her and so do her friends. Was this a horribly bad move on my part?

do you know if she likes you back?

I think you should deliver it yourself. Then say how you saw the charm and thought of her and stuff. Then throw in something about dinner or a movie sometime. Also, does she wear silver jewlery? If she does, 10 points to you for being observative.

I truly have no idea. My guess is a no though.
Also for Matt's post, I do believe she wears silver yes.

On the part about dinner and a movie if I could get her away from her friends I would try that, but she is always surrounded by the intimidating crowd of friends.

why don't you just call her and ask her out?

I don't have her phone number.

She is on my msn but her status is always busy and she won't talk when it's set to busy.

get your friend who sees her at lunch to give you her phone number.

I'd be weary of Matt's idea, only because she may feel like she HAS to go out with you on a date because you gave her a gift.
If you have a relationship with this girl (I mean as at least a friend) then its fine to give her a gift. Otherwise I think I would be a lil creeped out to get a gift from someone that I barely tal to. Just my opinion though, and it's not meant to be harsh.
