Atleast the people who dislike Gravity can come up with some variety in their complaints.
you know bud, i didn't know people had to explain why they like an album. if you like an album, the music is why you like it. and to be quite honest, i could care less what other people's opinions are on the album. i have mine, and that's all i need. i don't need your expert opinion baby thief since you seem to be giving it all the time. i respect everyone's opinions on the albums, but at the end of the day, i don't sit in bed contemplating what baby thief had to say about gravity, cause quite frankly, i don't care what you have to say.

Wow, so basically this board has become a place to attack eachothers statements. What Fun!
I never said that people who like Gravity had to say why they think it's good. Hell, i didn't even say if i liked it or didn't. But people of course had to go attack what i said. I was simply trying to say that this board has simply become a place where 30% of the people like Gravity, 40% hate it, and the rest just sit and say 'It's all about opinions'. All I was trying to get across is that its getting boring listening to the people who like Gravity use the same two statements when an argument about the cd comes up.
So thank you once again for shooting down a statement that I made and twisting it around to make me look like an ass. You seem to be quite good at it
THERE'S TOO MANY OF US THAT DON'T WANT TO FIGHT IT

Um... i got news for ya... your post was basically attacking the people that didn't like gravity. and because you didn't like the reasons they gave for liking it.
I have to agree that people hwho support Gravity do not give a good critical analysis of why they like it better than the people who do not.
I think Gravity is very easy to criticize because OLP choose to go for a more mainstream and simplistic atmosphere..........a sort of renewal to introduce themselves to AMerica again. I don't think Gravity is as good as their previous works, but it was definetly successful in its approach. Take "Innocent", which is lambasted for being poppy and without deeper meaning.......but it does have a lot to think about......the song deals without a lot of stuff (from societies crippling expecations, to emotional insecurity and depression that goes along with adolescence)....not with deep introspection or metaphors, but just easy to digest stories. The chorus I think doesn't refer to the fact that everyone is innocent from everything........but that their feelings of hopelessness and the weight of society is not their fault, even if takes its toll on them.
I thought this was supposed to be about the new album. Not the one from 2 years ago.
-Sarah Goodbye you liar, Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything Then you think you will inspire Take apart your head (and I wish I could inspire) Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.
just to break away from all the backlash, against each other, a minute. I was at R/S site and saw the new lyrics. I have to say I like the song better. I have to just hear it now.
I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again Teach the young people how to think, not what to think-Sidney Sugarman
Who added the bunny? that wasn't there a few minutes ago.

When people say they like an album but just say "because its different", that isn't an explanation at all.......I liked some of Gravity and can explain why I like it. People who criticize it could easily say its bad "because its different" as well.........but generally they give comprehendable arguements.........though I'm not by any means supporting the way they do it.........
I find it irritating as hell when people rail against the album with swear words and emotional outbursts that sound extremely childish. Calling the album "fecal matter" to OLP's face makes you kind of dickhead........and putting on this board is offensive to some fans because we actually care about them......even if I happen to share the same opinion.
I don't know if I disagree with you totally.........I just feel that people can criticize for whatever they want......its just nice when they back it up with comprehendable arguements that help us understand their point, or maintain a level of maturity. I don't see many reviewers having "tantrums" when they don't like an album.
