Ok here is my problem. This guy likes me. I knew he liked me all along, and we were friends, so I just tried to ignore it, it was easy for me :lol:

Then he told me and I kind of bounced it off the wall, but never said I didn't like him. Then he brought it up AGAIN over Thanksgiving. I did tell him then that there was nothing. The thing is, I am friends with all his roomies and we just have a group. Well, they ALL know that he likes me and I don't like him. In fact, the whole ward knows. (Basically everyone who lives around me in the apartment complex makes up the ward) He's been really depressed and I know about this. He led me to believe he was a really private person and didn't share these things with the whole world. But the whole ward knows he likes me, that I'm a cruel bitch who don't return the favor, and that I am the cause of this depression.

I feel really guilty but I don't think I should. Any advice?

If you've told him that there is nothing between you two other than friendship, then he needs to accept the fact that you aren't interested and move on. He needs to understand that he can't make someone like him. I've done the exact same thing he is doing. It's just a matter of growing up and accepting the fact that not everyone you like is going to feel the same way about you, and you can't change that. No need for you to feel guilty.

I definately agree with Matt, Cass. It's not like you're personally attacking this boy by not returning his affections. However, he seems to be approaching it this way! It's his fault for being so close minded, and not accepting that friendship is all you want right now. You're simply not interested at this point. That doesn't further deny anything that might happen in the future. Nonetheless, he has ruined it with his child-like manner of handling adult situations and inability to realize the ignorance he seems to have obtained.

I understand that he needs time to mend his broken heart. But, he is certainly not doing so by being a Grade A Jackass. It's not getting him anywhere, really. He is only appearing worse in your perception of him. If he is the type that needs nothing short of an awakening, then I suggest you tell him something along these lines. Quite possibly, in kinder words. (I'm not much for those.)

And, if he likes you so very much, why the hell is he not considering your feelings? I mean, fuck. You can't guilt someone into liking you by making them feel like shit. He'll just end up looking pathetic in the end.

It definitely has worsened my perception of him. There's no way anything will ever happen. Not that he's a jackass though, but mostly that he can't handle anything needing a measure of maturity. He's actually leaving school, and I can't help but wonder if this is partly to get away from me. Eh, whatever, I don't really feel guilty. I just wanted to make sure I'm not the cold hearted bitch that everyone besides my roommates perceives me to be.
